First I must say that the cottage is cute, and the location is nice. It's across from Forsyth Park, which is great for walking, but do be aware that all the sounds going on in the park, either from concerts or yelling kids, you do hear inside the house. We enjoyed being able to walk through the historic district down to River St. in about a half hour. We did walk it at night a few times, and felt safe as long as you take a well- lighted street (Bull St.).
As far as inside the cottage, we were a little surprised to find out that the shower is not in the bathroom. It is basically in the kitchen. We were able to work with this, however it would have been nice to know that up front. The shower is not very strong either,so if you have long hair, be prepared. You also have to wait a good 3 to 4 minutes to get hot water in the bathroom. The internet service (WiFi) was very intermittent, constantly cutting out on us, so if you're planning on using the internet frequently, it's not great. We did see that someone else had mentioned that in their comment book an the coffee table. Our only other issue was with the couch. I saw one other review mentioned it wasn't "sleepable", and we found it very uncomfortable to sit on for more than a little while. The cushions sink into where the pull out bed is. They definately should invest in a new couch. The bed somewhat made up for this, as it is very comfortable. But I guess if you're looking for "quaint", and "historical", you might not mind these issues. Everything else was great. Manderly was great to work with in the booking of it, and there were little soaps and shampoos for use, which we've never found in renting a house before. I would take all of these things into account when booking it, and decide how important they are to you.
We just bought a new sleeper sofa today. It`s one of those great Laz-a_boys sleeper sofas that has a built in air mattress, so sleeping should be comfortable even for adults on the sofa now.
We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the property and our service.
However, we feel your very thorough evaluation is somewhat innacurate and misleading.
While you thought the location was "nice", you still managed to find fault with it, and yet Forsyth Park is one of Savannah's premier locations and is known as the "Crown Jewel" of Savannah's parks and squares. It is sometimes host to popular events such as concerts and "Shakespeare in the Park".
It is the first time we have heard some of the points you make in over five years of providing this home as a vacation rental, and we will be sure to look into them immediately.
We would like to clarify a couple of things now:
We have Comcast cable TV and high speed internet, which works all the time, unless your computer isn't set up right.
This historic home has a slightly quirky layout where the toilet is in a seperate location to the shower. The shower is not in the kitchen, it is in the passageway leading to the kitchen. Our guests have always found this historic quirkiness positively charming.
When guests indicate that they require the use of the sofa bed for sleeping, we always advise that it is only suitable for children.
We have not previously heard that it is uncomfortable for sitting, and presume it was not put away correctly. We will certainly look into this issue.
“Charming and Cozy Carriage House”

My wife and I stayed at the carriage house with our two little girls (2 and 2 months). The great 3-room layout gave us tons of options as far as who slept where - important when there are different bedtimes to consider.
It was immaculate when we arrived. The kitchen was polished and sparkling, the floors were gleaming and the windows spotless. It has all the historical "bones" of a structure that age, with all the modern amenities that today's travelers require. We couldn't have been more thrilled with the location, either. Across the street from Forsyth Park and a beautiful walk to anywhere downtown.
As far as service goes, they have it down to a science. They are present and helpful without being intrusive.
We fell in love with savannah and will definitely be staying there again.

Needed a place in Savannah and didn't plan far enough ahead, entirely my fault - But thanks to Savannah Dream Vacations, everything worked out great! Savannah Dream Vacations found a place for my husband and I to stay for an entire week. Savannah Dream Vacations was working on a new rental and let us have it before it was complete. We didn't need the entire house, but Savannah Dream Vacations interrupted their construction schedule to accommodate us. House was top notch, state of the art kitchen and baths located in the historic district. Best vacation ever and the next time we are in Savannah area we will definitely contact Savannah Dream Vacations again! Best vacation ever.
Glad we were able to help. The house Bobbie stayed at is the 509 E. York http://www.flipkey.com/savannah-vacation-rentals/p358877/

“Most charming Home we ever stayed at”

We travel all over the world and stayed in many Hotels and Inns, but lately we started staying in vacation rentals. They`re just nicer than and offer a lot more space. This was the most unique and charming Home we have stayed to date. The Home has skylights and built in window seats !! My husband loved sitting there and reading the newspaper, while keeping an eye on the activities in the park across the road. The park was wonderful, we walked around it every morning, it reminded us of Central park back home. Stop by at Sentien bean coffee shop for their wonderful coffees from all over the world . The vibe there was great. We felt like locals. We will be back and next time we`ll stay for a week to explore it all. Thank you Manderly for being such a great hostess.

t was great to arrive in Savannah after a long drive and settle into
the cozy Carriage House..... full of old world charm but with all the
modern amenities. Lovely!
Savannah didn't disappoint either! City Market and River Street were
fun to walk around. Don't miss Tybee Island...... the lighthouse, ice
cream on the pier etc. Also loved doing the walk you suggested on your
website.... a walk back in time! Fascinating. Hope to be back someday.

This was one of the most fabulous Vacation Rentals we have stayed so far. Not only was the craftsmanship displayed astounding, but also the attention to details was incredible., not to mention all the free amenities. The location on the park was also great and inspired us to be active, with all those people jogging or walking there.
A special thanks to Manderly for giving us the best massage ever!!! If you stay there, definitely treat yourself to one of her massages, we had the light touch one,you will feel like new born

Glad we found this place, as the weather sucked and we had to stay inside the whole time. really loved the house though, what a wonderful renovation job !!!! The bed is great to, not what you sometimes find in places like this. Really nice linens to. We`ll be back in the summer when the sun shines !!

first time we stayed in a vacation rental instead of a B&B. We were somewhat worried about it, because you never know what to expect when you rent someones home but this exceeded our expectations by far. It was so clean you could have eaten of the floor, the decor was just stunning and the location a dream. I knew Savannah had great architecture, but this was the most unique place we ever stayed. Manderly, one of the owners, told me it used to be an old dentist surgery and when her boyfriend and his partner restored it they kept lot`s of the original details, like the old subway tile in the kitchen, that used to be the surgery !!!
Also the sky lights are really cool.
I`d definetly recommend trying a vacation rental, it`s a different vibe.
