This condo is part of the Alfred Haywood House. Centrally located in the heart of the historic district, the building is at the corner of Abercorn and Oglethorpe, directly across the street from Colonial Park Cemetery (the oldest cemetery in Savannah) and closest to Chippewa square.

Chippewa Square: General James Edward Oglethorpe (who had previously founded the colony of Georgia) founded Savannah in 1733. He designed his new capital as a series of neighborhoods centered around 24 squares. Chippewa Square is at the center of the downtown historic district. The square is also at the center of Savannah's nightlife and entertainment, largely in part because of the Historic Savannah Theatre, it?s the oldest theatre in the United States and still produces shows nightly. The Square is also known for the famous park bench scenes from the critically acclaimed film Forrest Gump.

Flanked by St. John's Cathedral and SCAD, the condo is just a short walk to Savannah?s most desirable attractions; Forsythe Park, Broughton Street shops, City Market, River Street entertainment and the Telfair Museum. The unit is located directly on the St. Patrick's Day parade route and nestled comfortably in the middle of everything; Harris bakery, J. Christopher's and Parker's high-end deli/gift shop/gas station which is open 24 hours, are all just a short walk (1 block) away. There are fabulous places to eat, like The Ole Pink House or Vic's on the River - all within walking distance.

The spacious 1 bedroom condo has been recently renovated and professionally designed to pair Savannah's vast architectural history with a sleek modern coastal interior. The great room features elegant 14 ft. high ceilings, crown molding and original hardwood floors. It is beautifully appointed with a new nail head couch, a romantic fireplace and a large flat screen TV. Sit back and relax to a movie in the DVD player or curl up with a classic novel in the reading nook.

Wireless internet available.

The bedroom boasts a beautiful antique 4 poster queen bed dressed in luxurious European bedding, down pillows and duvet. A full sized closet, full length mirror and plenty of drawer space provide ample room for all your things. The bathroom combines vintage style and modern utility with amenities such as the double marble vanity, full sized tub/shower, upgraded fixtures and premium linens. Move in and feel right at home!

Whether you love to cook or are just looking to save a little money on vacation by making a few meals at home - a full kitchen is an advantage that you do not get at a hotel. This fully equipped eat-in kitchen has brand new granite countertops, matching appliances, dishes, glassware/flatware, cookware and comfortable seating for up to 4 people.

Full sized, coin operated washer and dryer are available inside the building across from the unit for your convenience.

We are located on the second floor. There is a beautiful courtyard available for your use, with porch swing, garden seating and communal grill. Street parking is available directly in front of the building and is free on weekends and after 5pm on weekdays.

"Amazing, Amazing - decor and location are awesome, we could not have been more impressed. This is a little slice of heaven in Savannah, we will most certainly be back!!" - Eric & Christena Brostrom (Atlanta, GA)

"Absolutely loved the location - a great place to explore the city from. Perfect size for 2 adults and equipped with everything we could have needed - the bed was super comfy and for a 2 week vacation, it was very important to have the extra's that you just don't get in a hotel, like a full kitchen and easy access to a washer/dryer. It was so nice to have found a ?home away from home;? we have been very happy here and are so glad that we finally got to check Savannah off the bucket list!? - Tom & Corliss Olsen (Wasilla, AK)

"Girls weekend! The 4 of us go somewhere new every year for the long weekend?but we may have to come back to Savannah! Once we arrived, we didn't use the car once - we walked everywhere - and having that little gourmet market around the corner was so convenient! Adore the way the place is decorated - modern and clean, but keeping with the southern historic charm Savannah is known for, loved all the little touches, like games, books and beach chairs/sun umbrella for Tybee beach. This condo was perfect - thank you!!" - Caroline Sarcopski (New York, NY)

The process for renting the apartment was easy and straightforward. The location was ideal for walking to everywhere in the old city. It had easy access to a market, bakery and other amenities.
The apartment was small, but beautifully decorated and comfortable for two adults. The kitchen was fairly well appointed (no dish washer or tea kettle), roomy and bright. The apartment lacked a view with all the windows opening onto an alley which tended to make the whole apartment a little dark.
Street parking was problematic. Savannah has a lot of awkward restrictions and street cleaning schedules. We were there for two weeks and overall had a great stay and enjoyed our time there very much. You can't beat the location for getting around. The inconvenieces were relatively minor. We hope to return in the future. It's a great city.
“Charming 1 bedroom per friendly rental close to everything!”

We booked this condo for a last minute getaway. The realtor at Savannah getaways was great to work with and found this pet friendly home for us. It was so cute and professionally decorated. Weekend parking was easy with the metered parking (Free on the weekends) right outside of the building. Great location, close walking distance to the river entertainment area, Paula Deens restaurant, parks and city market area. Reasonably priced. Would definately stay here again!

Stayed here for the Savannah RNR Marathon. Wonderful location, only .5 miles from the start & finish lines...can't get any closer than that. Enjoyed the ambiance of historic district and being able to walk to everything. Doggie friendly, so my pup, husband, & I did lots of walking. On the Saturday night after the marathon, we enjoyed dinner cooked in the kitchen while watching the most important football game, LSU beat alabama...wooohooo...Geaux Tigers!!! Overall, wonderful place to stay...would stay again and again!!!

Loved the location in the middle of the historic district. Walking distance to several eateries, but has a very updated and clean kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook a meal. Beautiful and appealing color scheme throughout. If we make it back to this lovely city we would stay here again. Found nothing wrong with the house. Especially liked the safe feeling in the neighborhood, even when walking after dark. Only drawback would be the hit and miss on the metered street parking.
