Private guest cottage just 7 miles from Historic Downtown Savannah, 20 miles from Tybee Island, 3 miles from major malls, public parks and area shopping.
Our guest house is a 441 square foot hotel style one bedroom suite with a kitchenette. The furnishings are by Adrianna Hoyos, a pioneer Ecuadorian designer. It sleeps three adults or a couple with two children with a king bed in the bed room. The living room has a sectional couch that can sleep one or two. The kitchenette has coffee and tea service and popcorn. There is a crock pot and a toaster and a good knife and a cutting board, and an electric fry pan in addition to the microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot and tea kettle.
We've just installed a dedicated wifi router in the cottage. Please let us know if you have any problems accessing.
Please feel free to come up on the main house porches and decks to sit and watch the sun come up or the stars come out while you listen to the sounds of the marsh and forest. There are plenty of comfortable chairs and tables for you to sit back and enjoy there. The main house is also where the washer and dryer are located.
We have a two night minimum stay for weekend reservations.
You may not open the windows or leave the front door open while the AC or Heat are running. If you open a window, turn the AC or Heat off. We will charge an electrical surcharge for guests who leave open windows and doors while the HVAC is running.
A little about your hosts: We moved to Savannah from the Pacific where we were art students at the University of Guam. We both enjoy bicycling and snorkeling. Our first three years in Savannah we studied art, jewelry making, training and caring for horses, and acting at the Savannah College of Art and Design on a full scholarship. Now we are settled on five acres just minutes from everything, but still with the charm of the countryside.
We are happy to answer your questions about Savannah's many restaurants, historic homes, parks and activities. I love visiting Savannah's sights and will be happy to show you around if my schedule allows it. Part of hosting in my home is the chance to get to know you. I promise to be respectful of your privacy, but please do ask if you want company or assistance or recommendations.
What to do while you stay with us?
Our part of the Atlantic coast consists of a sea of marsh rivers winding through what are called barrier islands. Our house sits on one of those marsh rivers. We are in a wildlife sanctuary.
Of course you will want to spend a couple of days touring in downtown Savannah's historic district. And most of our guests want to spend at least one day at the beach. All our beaches are on the barrier islands. Tybee Island is the closest barrier island with a bridge. The trip to Tybee is 20 or so miles, about 30 minutes. Saint Simons and Jekyll Island are the next two barrier Islands with bridges, both within an hour or twos drive. Cumberland Island has a state park run ferry service, so it has the least development. All have wonderful bicycling trails and beaches.
Kayakers will want to paddle Ebenezer Creek, a Tributary of the Savannah River, through a cyprus swamp with trees documented to be as much as 1,500 years old.
The oldest oak in Savannah is on private property but is open to the public. We can give you directions or take you there for a photo shoot. Wormsloe and the Candler Oak are also worth visiting.
There is bird watching in our yard and also along the Ogeechee canal and the Savannah Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy dolphin watching on the Bull River and canoeing on the many marsh streams. Visit the Bamboo Farm and Botanical Gardens, the Oatland Island Wildlife Center, and Forts Jackson or Pulaski. Watch the sun rise from the Isle of Hope Marina.
Shop the amazing thrift stores and art studios in historic Bluffton, SC. Plan to spend your days exploring and your evenings relaxing in our quiet oasis.
In house massage is available with a little advance planning at a fraction of a spa's cost.
Pets are allowed with some restrictions. There is a pet fee of $50 per pet per stay. There are two kittens and a flock of hens and guineas in the yard. For those with cat allergies, the only cat free zone is the cottage. There is a hound dog living on the porches. Please let us know if you wish him to go inside.
Easy to find from I-95 exit 94 in Savannah's Southside, near shopping and restaurants, parks and boat ramps.

A very comfortable oasis in the city, owners are very accommodating. We had a very enjoyable time for the four days we were there and wished we had booked longer. Lots to explore in the area and it was nice to be able to come back to such a lovely and quiet place for the night. Very relaxing, we enjoyed the time we spend with RJ and Bruce and hope to do it again.
Thanks for everything.
