Catered Chalet, Three Valleys, All en-suite, Sauna, Hot-tub, Boot-warmers, 8 Bedrooms, 7 Bathrooms, Sleeps 16, Wireless Internet Access
Chalet Sara Marie is situated in the picturesque and traditional village of Le Bettaix, which has a bar / restaurant and a ski hire shop. The bedrooms are spread over the ground, first and second floor. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a basin, shower and WC (except the family suite, which consists of two bedrooms sharing a bathroom). All of the bedrooms have storage space (wardrobe in most, shelves in one other bedroom), side tables and a towel dryer. All 7 en-suite bathrooms have modern fixtures and fittings (including a basin). On the ground floor is the boot room, sauna and two twin bedrooms (both en-suite). On the first floor is a beautiful open plan living area with wide-screen TV, DVD player, a selection of DVDs and board games, a large central fireplace and a large outdoor balcony. There is also free, unlimited wireless broadband access. There are also two double bedrooms (both en-suite). On the second floor are four more twin bedrooms (two of which comprise the family suite) each with their own ensuite bathroom. The chalet is detached so children and adults can make as much noise as they like, and there is plenty of outdoor space for playing in the snow! The chalet is non-smoking. Ashtrays are provided on the balconies.
Le Bettaix is a short chair lift or a 6 minute car trip from the bigger resort of Les Menuires, and two lifts or a 14 minute drive from Val Thorens – the highest resort in Europe. The chalet is just 150m from the chair lift, so you can walk to the chaiflift in the morning, and then either ski the blue run or off-piste back to Le Bettaix in the evening.
At 2,300 metres, Val Thorens is the most snow sure resort you’ll find in Europe. To illustrate its height advantage, Val Thorens is 900 metres higher than Meribel! Furthermore, Les Menuires and Val Thorens form part of the Three Valleys – the largest ski area in the world, totalling over 600km of piste!

Les Menuires is the least well-known, most French and most accessible resort in the Three Valleys. From the skier's point of view, this translates into mostly uncrowded pistes and short queues at the chairlifts. You can also ski the 'Itinéraires du Soleil' (which roughly translated means 'the sunshine path'), all day long on south and west-facing slopes to maximise your sun-tan!
Another good point for many is the fact that Les Menuires is such nice family resort - definitely lacking in the fur-coated snobs which frequent some of the other resorts nearby. It has a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops, a well-equipped sports centre (with indoor swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi, hammam, sauna and squash court), outdoor swimming pool, cinema, night clubs and an ice skating rink.

Clean, comfortable chalet with fantastic chalet staff and excellent food.
Bedrooms small but adequate. Not enough sofa seating for all 16 guests to sit and chat together although dining chairs can be used.
Hot tub, sauna and boot warmer all in working order(unlike other chalets we have stayed in!)
Close to lift into Les Menuires and ski hire shop only 20 yards away
Took advantage of Garret's airport transfers which were competitively priced and efficient.
"Excellent value, laid back service - recommended for all!"

I don't usually write reviews on sites such as this but felt that the value offered by Garrett and Rhian (a.k.a. Silver Lining Chalets) on our trip was of such a standard that it warranted this review. The information given up front and the effort that was put in to make our holiday as informed and enjoyable as possible was amazing - Garrett and Rhian are very laid back but also very efficient which are a rare and refreshing combination of qualities in this business from my experience! The chalet was immaculate with great food and was well placed for skiing and also the local restaurant/pub. The addition of the offer of a packed lunch at a very reasonable price was great and we took Garrett up on his offer of ski-guiding us round the slopes for a day which helped us get our bearings for the rest of the week. All in all we had a wonderful time and will most definately be back next year - highly recommended!

We arrived in a blizzard and were greeted with canapes and champagne and a roaring log fire. What a delighful way to begin our holiday. From then on we were spoiled and pampered with fantastic food, both at breakfast and dinner, which meant that we had to ski harder to burn off the calories. Nothing was too much trouble either for the chalet hosts or Garrett and Rhian, the owners, who made sure we had everything we needed. Our ski passes were waiting for us on arrival and the ski lessons booked for the children. In fact other than ski there was nothing for us to do! The children were occupied all day in ski school and then too tired at night to bother. Perfect!
Garret showed us some excellent skiing areas and also knew of great restaurants, where we could sample some good local cuisine to add to our already expanding waistlines!
There is nothing quite like coming back to a cosy warm chalet and climbing into a lovely hot tub with a glass or two of wine and relaxing from a good days skiing.
It was also nice to be a little bit out of the main town, but only two minutes walk from the lift, or a great ski back down in the afternoon.
I think this was one of the best holidays we have had and we have already booked for next season. So watch out Bettaix, we'll be back!!

If your looking for a warm, friendly, comfortable and cosy stay, this is the place to go. The chalet felt like home and the food was better than home. The staff were warm and welcoming and only too happy to help. The cooked breakfast was a great way to start the day and just what you need for a day on the slopes. The lift was literally a 2 min walk from the door and dropped us in resort, if we had lessons Garrett or Rhi were on hand to make sure we weren't late! After a day in the slopes there was homecooked cakes and tea waiting or a beer in the hot tub to soak away those aches and pains just fabulous. If you are looking for more heat the sauna was also great. The evening meal each night was well presented and tasted great you were definatley always full and then you could just enjoy chilling out in the sumptious lounge with open fire place. No problem was too small to be dealt with and the rooms are spotless. If you want to ski, relax and be well looked after then this is the place to go. We have already booked again for next season. Can't wait!
