Additional Location Information

Welcome to Harbor Country

This is truly a Midwest treasure! Harbor Country, Michigan, is a cluster of eight lakefront communities situated along the charming, two-lane Red Arrow Highway and connected by windy, tree-lined back roads. Harbor Country retains a casual and relaxing beachy feel just a 90 minute drive away from Chicago.
It includes Michiana, Grand Beach, New Buffalo, Union Pier, Lakeside, Harbert, Sawyer and Three Oaks. Beginning at the Michigan state line, these tightly knit, yet individual, communities encompass a stretch of about 15 miles north along Lake Michigan and 6 miles inland.
What the Hamptons are to New York and Cape Cod is to Boston, Harbor Country is to Chicago: a rustic upscale getaway -- with lots of fine dining opportunities -- The main attractions are Lake Michigan and its miles of sandy beaches, as well as the abutting countryside, once a farming and logging area where there are still many working farms and orchards. With its countless collectible shops and roadside marts, Red Arrow Highway might as well be called Antique Alley. The once-sleepy Arrow has become an antique hunter's dream! Take a wine break and tour the variety of wineries in the area. And if you love beer, there are also plenty of breweries in the area waiting for your tour! For more information and trip planning please visit:

Beautiful Warren Dunes State Park

Warren Dunes is known for its beautiful beach and nature trails. You can spend the day lounging at the beach or climbing the dunes. It's shoreline is filled with miles of sandy beach. Warren Dunes has three miles of shoreline, six miles of hiking trails and is open year-round. It also has a dune formation that rises 260 feet above the lake with spectacular views and 1,952 acres of recreational opportunity. At its peak, the dune looks out over Lake Michigan and provides a view of Chicago's skyline from afar. The sunsets are so stunning as you end your day.
