Description

This is a charming semi-detached cottage offering comfortable and welcoming accommodation for up to four people. This delightful semi-detached cottage is on the edge of the village of pretty Cumbrian village of Scales and offers welcoming accommodation for up to four people. The kitchen is compact but has everything a kitchen should have and is well fitted with a useful porch area. The lounge is spacious and inviting with a cosy multi-fuel stove and houses the dining area. The two bedrooms are charming and simply but pleasantly decorated, giving the rooms a tranquil atmosphere. The ground floor shower room is well appointed and the outside space offers a small front garden, a patio area with furniture to sit out and relax and soak up the peace and quiet. This property is a real âhome from home' and makes the ideal base to see all this stunning area has to offer.

Amenities: Central heating system fuelled by boiler fed from multi-fuel stove plus electric heater and immersion heater. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, WiFi, TV, DVD player. Fuel, power & starter pack of wood for multi-fuel stove inc. in rent (additional fuel available locally). Bed linen inc in rent. Cot & highchair on request. Off road parking for two cars. Patio area with furniture. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops 4 miles. Pub 1 mile. Note: property only takes 3 night bookings or more.

Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Town: The small village of Scales is situated on the Cumbrian Peninsula and makes a fabulous base to explore this gem of an area. The name Scales originates from an old Norse word meaning âhuts'. Ulveston, an ancient market town, is only four miles away and it has retained its community spirit, holding a thriving street market every Thursday and Saturday and there are many festivals throughout the year. One of the claims to fame Ulveston has is that it is the birthplace of Stan Laurel, and to commemorate their famous son there is a Laurel and Hardy Museum. The Furness Coast has unspoiled sandy beaches and bird watching opportunities and the Cumbrian national Park is within easy reach. With plenty of family attractions in the area, this a great place for a holiday.
