Villa Oost Indies "3 bedrooms Villa Seminyak Bali"
Characterised by a historical Javanese ‘joglo’ living pavilion and contemporary-colonial architecture, the family-friendly Villa Oost Indies (previously Villa Des Indes 2) presents 3 bedrooms, a swimming pool and garden, offering the choice of a two-or-three-bedroom renting option, accommodating up to six adults and two children. Original colonial-style furnishings interpret Dutch designs, while reflecting the desires of the colonial era with lazy chairs, marble-topped tables and washstands, sumptuous silks, antiques and curios. Here, in atmospheric luxury, guests can look forward to a captivating journey back through time, combined with 21st century comforts and the exemplary services of personal butlers and a top-class chef. The villa rests upon 550 square metres of land within the secure and prestigious Laksmana Villas Estate, just footsteps away from the Indian Ocean at Petitenget Beach, Seminyak, on Bali’s southwest coast.
At Villa Oost Indies, everything possible has been considered for the comfort and entertainment of the guests. The villa is supported by a team of highly trained, friendly staff headed by a villa manager who is available to assist guests during their stay. The team also includes an in-house chef and 24-hour personal butlers, while the estate is guarded by a security team operating on a 24-hour shift basis. Airport transfers, baby-sitting, spa services and the facilities of a car and driver are all available at extra cost. An à la carte fixed-price menu offers international and Asian dishes as well as local specialties, and daily breakfast is inclusive.
The two master suites are identical in size and layout and positioned in the main building, one upstairs and one downstairs, overlooking the swimming pool and the garden. Each of these suites is fully air-conditioned and comprises a bedroom with an adjoining sitting room, an ensuite bathroom, a dressing room and a private sheltered veranda. Each of the master bedrooms is furnished with a king-size, four-poster bed, while the ensuite bathrooms are each fitted with a marble clad, walk-in monsoon shower, a pair of washbasins, and a large freestanding bathtub. The adjoining dressing rooms present wardrobes and dressing tables, while the balcony and terrace are both furnished with colonial-style lazy chairs. Each cosy sitting room is furnished with a comfortable sofa that doubles as a bed for a child. The third bedroom is positioned upstairs in a separate wing of the building, accessed by a dedicated external staircase and, if required, by a private entrance gate. With a private and sheltered balcony-veranda on the far side that enjoys a charming view of the red-tiled Balinese rooftops, this spacious bedroom is furnished with Hollywood twin beds, which can be converted to a king-size bed if necessary. The ensuite bathroom is fitted with a pair of washbasins, and a large walk-in monsoon shower with a handheld option. Electronic technology in each bedroom includes both air-conditioning and ceiling fans, a safe, an independently controlled satellite-channel TV with DVD player, a drinks fridge, and an iPod dock.
The open-sided living and dining pavilion is incorporated within a beautiful century-old ‘joglo’ – the core of a traditional Javanese timber house – lovingly furnished with cushioned wooden sofas, plantation chairs, a dining table and an afternoon tea table. A guest washroom is positioned to one side. On the ground-level terrace of the main building is a bar with four high stools, while tucked away behind is a professional service kitchen.
Immediately next to the joglo is a freeform swimming pool.

I booked on the last minute with Villa Oost Indies for a stay with my parents and a few relatives. Despite the geographical distance, I found it very easy to communicate with Salim (the manager) who was very accommodating in all the requests I made. We managed to complete the booking in a span of 3 days owing to the prompt response of Salim.
From this moment, I knew that I booked the perfect villa for our trip. And I was not wrong! Salim made sure that everybody in the group was taken care of. We all had positive remarks of the excellent level of service the staff provided.
Much thought was given to the interior design of the house, reflecting a very traditional Balinese feel. Comfort was truly their number one priority in all aspects of the house!
Having your own private pool inside the compound is what drew me to book this villa. The house was spacious enough, more than enough for a group of 12-15!
Despite being able to accommodate a big group, the Villa was designed to still provide privacy to its guests. The rooms above had separate access, in case the guests did not want to be disturbed.
The staff were exceptional! They made sure that all our needs were met and provided for. They went to great lengths to provide us with a personalized level of service that is at par with 5-star hotels.
Kudos to Salim and the team for making this stay very memorable.

The villa is like a hidden gem, which is not known to many tourists. But inside, it is a haven of peace and tranquility where you get to relax and daydream in the middle of the day!
Imagine yourself sitting by the sundeck, watching the stillness of the pool, sipping a cold drink... this is the kind of holiday I got with my stay in Villa Oost Indies!
Eye for detail in the design and architecture of the house is worth mentioning! You feel the Balinese culture through the decorations and artworks inside the house. Once you step inside the house, you know you are in Indonesia!
The property is spacious enough, pampering guests with huge rooms. Several open spaces were available where guests can congregate and hang out. .
Staff were very courteous and polite, always ready to assist but not obtrusive. They were available 24/7 which was a plus factor!
Location is quite central, being close to the beach, restaurants and bars.

This perfect little villa reminded me almost of a guest house attached to some large Beverley Hills estate but with the added bonus of having exotic Bali just outside our door. I found myself daydreaming about how to build a duplicate of my own.
Villa Oost Indies is a perfect setting for those looking for peace and quiet and still having all the "action" readily accessible.
The villa manager, Bagus, and his capable staff went out of their way and took excellent care of us during our short visit. It's also easy to see that the villa's owner has paid attention to all the little details which make a great experience.

Stayed at Villa Oost Indies for a week in November. I wish it could have been for longer. The villa is a gem of a place, decorated in colonial style and located in the exclusive and safe Laaksmana estate a couple of minutes from the beach. It has a fantastic swimming pool and three beautifully appointed bedrooms.
The staff, several of whom are discreetly on duty round the clock, are extremely obliging and friendly and manage to get the balance between keeping their guests pampered without intruding absolutely right.
The food at the villa is excellent and very reasonably priced, while you are also a very short walk from any number of excellent restaurants, hotels and shops near the beachfront. We can't wait to book again.

From the moment you enter the Villa with traditional surroundings, soft spoken efficient waitstaff sparkling pool you know the Villa Oost Indies is a perfect Bali Oasis in the commotion of the busy Seminyak precinct. Our stay in the Villa was perfect...a little construction noise which was soon lost in the ether of Oost Indies relaxation...great breakfast..chef and butler on call mosquito netting over bed..large pool traditional furnishings beautiful gardens stone throw from all Seminyak restaurants.Definitely returning.

Initially, we were unsure about booking a traditional style villa as we usually prefer a modern, minimalist design. However, upon check-in we knew we had made the right choice, with a villa that exudes old world charm and comfort.
The villa was a nice size for our group of 5; impeccably clean and well-maintained. Service was excellent, with special mention to Bagus who managed the villa efficiently and Bagi, our server who greeted us with his infectious smile everyday.
Location in the Laksmana Complex is great for exploring Seminyak. The boutiques, restaurants and nightlife are within walking distance or a short cab ride away. There is some ongoing construction on the adjacent lot but nothing too obtrusive that would detract from a wonderful stay!

We decided to stay in Seminyak to be in the heart of the action as it was my first trip to Bali with friends who had been coming here for decades. Villa Oost Indies was picked by a friend based on it's location within a protected "compound" (really a private street), its traditional joglo architecture and a reputation for service and comfort.
We were looking for a three bedroom villa and this had two huge master suites (with huge bathroom suites) plus a third double bedroom in the back. The public areas opened out onto the pool and the rolling gardens beyond. Note that much of the gardens will be closed off for another villa as the property was recently bought - in the meantime, enjoy the view! there is a fair bit of construction going on in the area (in all of Bali it seems) and the rear bedroom's staircase looks over a building site but that is a matter of time...
The service was excellent with Pak Bagus taking care of our needs with his staff, from airport pick up to laundry, and food service... The kitchen staff made excellent breakfast and provided a delicious rijstaffel dinner for ourselves and a dozen guests. The villa is family-friendly, something we can testify to when our locally-based friends brought a dozen children to enjoy the pool over dinner.
I would easily choose this property again and recommend it to anybody looking for an oasis in the heart of Seminyak.
