['Dangerously comfortable' is about the best we can do to describe this getaway...it was tough to push ourselves out the door every morning to go hiking. We've stayed in many VRBO listed accommodations and this is by far the most comfortable and well thought out place we've stayed in. The best sunrises we've ever seen! Thank you for sharing your great views with us.]

ABOUT THE LOFT
The Loft was designed and created by us for those of you looking for the ultimate getaway. Here you can relax in privacy, feel pampered while enjoying up-scale amenities, unobstructed views, and peaceful, natural surroundings.
Situated at the head of Sequim Bay at approx. 450 ft. elevation, The Loft offers a panoramic view of Sequim Bay, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the San Juan Islands and Mt. Baker. The view of the Strait provides an ever-changing view of many ocean bound ships. (We provide binoculars for you to enjoy the activity a bit closer up.)
The Loft itself is approximately 600 square feet in size and is the second story of a completely finished building which we use for storage and a workshop. Our home is also on the property, but the purposeful orientation of the two separate buildings allows for total privacy for our guests.
There is an inviting, separate and gated entrance leading around to the backside of the building housing The Loft. Once around the backside, you will find towering evergreens, a wonderful private patio with a hot tub and gas BBQ...and a beautiful view of Sequim Bay out into the Strait. Relax in the comfortable patio furniture and enjoy the pleasing ambiance of trees, water and solitude.
Beyond the patio and landscaped yard,, and on the hills behind are tall evergreens that extend up to high peaks within Olympic National Park. It is not uncommon to have eagles flying overhead, deer in the lower grassy areas and visits from bunnies.
We originally envisioned building this space for our family and friends to use while visiting. So we wanted it to be very special even from the beginning. As the project progressed, we decided to offer it on vacation rental sites (which we had used many times ourselves). So we doubled our efforts to create a place that felt warm, cozy, romantic and luxurious. We even provide spa towels and robes!
We decorated The Loft using vibrant and inviting colors. We used natural slate, granite, a heated tile floor, upscale fixtures and solid cherry woodwork/trim throughout to accomplish our vision. One of our favorite features in The Loft is the gas fireplace. We spent hours designing and installing it. Surrounded with natural slate tiles it has a hand crafted mantle of solid cherry and truly is 'one of a kind'.
We planned the furniture and fireplace arrangement so that the fireplace, wall mounted HDTV, and straight on view of Sequim Bay can all be enjoyed from the comfort of the bed! We also installed 'stealth' stereo speakers in the walls...they are invisible! The balcony of The Loft overlooks the bay and is a wonderful place to just 'be'.
We are in a gated community comprised of five-acre properties. Ours is located on the top of the hill, at the end of a cul-de-sac. It is the last of only three homes situated on the street.
We feel we accomplished our goal of creating a very special place, and are pleased to offer it for your stay in Sequim. Our central location on the north end of the Olympic Peninsula makes this a great place to stay while enjoying the numerous activities available in the area.
We do prefer 3 night minimum stays, however in certain situations we may allow 2 night stays.

Additional Location Information
The Loft is a romantic venue set amidst tall evergreens with absolutely stunning views of Sequim Bay, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Mt. Baker. We are in a rural neighborhood of five acre lots, and yard/hot tub area of The Loft is located on the far side of the building offering absolute privacy. The Olympic National forest is practically in our back yard, hiking, kayaking, biking, wine tasting, great restaurants, shopping, the Pacific coast beaches, whale watching, Victoria BC, and much more is close at hand from this luxurious destination.

The Loft is a fantastic place to go on a retreat/getaway. My wife and I spent a week there for our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for a better place. It was a small, cozy, comfortable place with remarkable views and perfect ammenities. The private hot tub that overlooks Sequim Bay was great; along with a nice deck with heaters to spend the cool mornings drinking your coffee. The town of Sequim has great restaurants and the entire Olympic Peninsula has a lot to explore and experience. Kemp and Cheri Curtis provide an excellent place to just get away and enjoy the beautiful Northwest. They are extremely friendly, but give you the privacy that you desire, so if you want to not be seen and heard from, you can truly escape. Read more
We are always honored to be chosen as the place where a couple decides to spend their honeymoon. There is no greater compliment to us as we designed The Loft to be a place for romance and relaxation. To know that your expectations for such a memorable event in your lives was met, and that you were happy with you choice is very rewarding to us. Thank you for taking the time to submit this review. We wish you all the best, and thank you!

My husband and I stayed at The Loft in august 2010 and loved it so much that we stayed again for our anniversary in March 2011. Let me just say that I am absolutely the pickiest person I know when it comes to lodging. I require total cleanliness, among other things and The Loft delivers not only a super clean space but many other amenities as well. When we arrived the lights were dimmed and there was a lovely note from the owner and fresh flowers on the night stand. We felt so welcomed and comfortable. The bed is dressed in buttery soft Ralph Lauren linens with down pillows and duvet. Totally cozy! The kitchenette is well stocked with dishes and glassware. Cheri and Kemp have thought of everything. Coffee and hot cocoa as well as microwave popcorn are nicely displayed in a basket on the counter. Lindt truffles offered in a small glass dish. The towels were thick and soft as were the bathrobes and rug in the bathroom. Radiant heat in the bath was also a wonderful feature! Love it! The hot tub was wonderful and very private. The view is amazing during the day and at night we watched falling stars (August) and rain clouds and a full moon in March. So quiet and peaceful! Another favorite is the view from bed! Incredible! We took a few day trips. One to Port Townsend and another to Port angeles. Beautiful area to either be quiet or to set out on an adventure. There is lots to do if you so desire. The Loft gets 5 stars from us (me, my husband is not at all picky...) Highly recommend for the discriminating traveler! Read more

my boyfriend and i stayed at the loft in late february 2011, after a random snowstorm dumped several inches of snow on the peninsula. realizing that my sports car would never make it up the steep hill to the loft, kemp drove down to the main road to meet us and drive us back up to the loft. he continued to serve as chauffeur to and from my car, so that we could go to dinner that night to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. that sort of committment and attention to our needs was unexpected and awesome!
the loft space itself is wonderful and well-thought out--great for a couple's getaway. the view from the little deck is amazing. the loft was cozy and perfect; it was hard to leave on our final day. our only quibble, and it's a very small one, is that the lack of a proper range presented a bit of a cooking challenge. we absolutely look forward to another stay at the loft! Your visit was a great drill for what we figured we would do if we had snow when guests were scheduled to arrive! Often when it snows we have to use a four-wheel drive and chains to get up our hill, so we were prepared to do whatever it would take to accomodate you and help make your stay enjoyable.
Thank you for the kind word and great review; please do come back!

I can't tell you how wonderful this get-a-way is...but I can tell you we absolutely loved it...we hot tubbed, we dined in and out...we loved the balcony...the view is wonderful...we left Seattle in the rain and found sun shine...the booking agent is the best...no complaints, no none what so ever...well it would have been nice to stay at lot longer, the place is wonderfully built and wonderfully private, and I don't always write such nice reviews, but my hubby and I really loved it, thanks so much, maybe we can go again next year... We booked our stay months in advance. During that time I emailed Cheri (owner) countless times. Each time she was so helpful, considerate and gave us tons of information. Upon arrival everything was perfect! The views are breathtaking, the Loft is gorgeous! It does look like a model home down to the last touch. Cheri thought of every little detail...fresh flowers, music upon arrival, binoculars to take in the views, cushy robes, huge closest...she even went out of her way to provide us a blender because we had mentioned we liked to make smoothies in the morning! She and Kemp made us feel at home. We did not feel like "visitors' but like friends. We loved the location for the easy access to all the outdoor things we wanted to do. Go to Hurricane Ridge, rainforest, Cape Flattery. Sequim has the nicest people we've ever met. Slow pace, relaxed. What more could you ask for on a vacation? Even Cheri and Kemps dog, Hanna came to greet us..We are huge dog lovers and we loved seeing her every day. This home is private, well thought out and we cannot say enough about it and your hosts. Definately recommended. Enjoy!!! Read more

"Simply The Best...Words Can't adequately Describe It"

My wife and I just completed a fantastic stay at The Loft. Words cannot adequately describe our wonderful experience. It was better than our expectations and our expectations were very high because of the photos and the other reviews. This is perfect for 2 people. Cheri and Kemp have done an amazing job of building and furnishing this wonderful retreat for two. We have stayed at many, many Vrbo properties throughout the U.S., and this one ranks at the very top. Don't hesitate to go...great location overlooking Sequim Bay. You get the forest, the mountains and the water right there at The Loft. Central to visiting the Olympic National Park, taking the ferry to Victoria, going the lavendar farms, visiting Port Townsend. But the best part was just being at The Loft. You go, and you'll understand! We loved it so much that we extended our stay instead of going to Seattle. Thank you Cheri and Kemp. We hope to visit again! Steve & Janet Read more
As much as you appreciated staying in The Loft, it is only half as much we appreciate you taking the time not only to write in our Guestbook in The Loft but also to go home and post this wonderful review for others to read.
As we have used VRBO in the past to find vacation spots ourselves, we fully understand the apprehension involved in renting a place and then hoping that when you arrive, it is at least as good as portrayed online. That is reason we have posted so many pictures actually taken from The Loft. To us, it is worth the extra expense; not because we are so proud of The Loft, but because we believe that guests considering a home should be able to fully view all aspects of that home.
When we created The Loft, our goal was to make it a place that would provide everythinig to our guests that we would hope to find in a vacation home ourselves. We do feel that we accomplished that and truly do enjoy spending time there ourselves.
Several guests such as yourself have suggested that we post a video on VRBO. We are looking into that now and perhaps even a 360 degree virtual tour. That really would solve the problem we have of trying to describe how great The Loft is and expecting people to believe us, the owners!
We genuinely hope to have you come back and stay sometime. We enjoyed meeting you and again, we thank you for your review and for making the effort to submit it.
