Additional Location Information

One of Seville's most traditional neighbourhoods, Triana lies on the west bank of the Guadalquivir, a short walk across the river from the centre.

Historically the neighbourhood of craftsmen, sailors and dockworkers, it still plays an important role in the cultural life of the city. It is one of the spiritual homes of flamenco, and of the world famous Triana pottery. Here you can find workshops and ateliers selling both traditional and modern ceramics, including the tiles that decorate so many of the city's buildings.

Betis Street, which runs alongside the river, provides stunning views of the old city centre, and is a popular after hours destination with its wide range of restaurants, bars and clubs. At the end of Triana Bridge is the 150 year old food market, which is built over the ruins of St. George's Castle - the Castillo San Jorge, once the headquarters of the infamous Inquisition.

· Betis Street and city views across the Guadalquivir River
