Additional Location Information

The Seward Birdhouse is conveniently located in the heart of Seward with parking on-site. Enjoy spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains and Resurrection Bay from the front and famous Mt Marathon to the back.

2 blocks south is the historic downtown, restaurants, and shops. The beach is also 2 blocks away where the gentle paved path along the oceanfront leads one way to the community playground and Alaska Sealife Center, and the other direction to the Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center, harbor shops and restaurants, and tour boats. Forest and mountain trails beckon a short walk to the west.

Be sure to visit Kenai Fjords National Park by boat, drive out to Exit Glacier for a ranger-guided or self-guided walk on the trails, visit our new community Library/Museum and learn about the Great 1964 Earthquake, enjoy the Ididaride Alaska sled dog ride and demonstration run by the famous Seavey family (Mitch Seavey won his second Iditarod in 2013!), take in a charter fishing tour, try kayaking in the bay, or go sailing. There's a lot to do in beautiful Seward!
