Behind the rocky hills of Sorrento, in Italy’s picturesque agrarian south lies Villa Sorrento, a marvel of modern architecture and design. This villa is so sublimely positioned behind the hills that it has a nearly clandestine presence, but also provides for an amazing panoramic sight over the whole of the Bay of Naples as well as the mountains right behind Sorrento. The villa has five luxury bedrooms capable of accommodating up to ten visitors and is family-friendly.
Upon arrival to Villa Sorrento guests are greeted by a welcome basket and will no doubt be taken aback by the estate’s pervasive greenery. Olive and fruit trees are a fundamental element in the wild nature of the Sorrento Peninsula and grow throughout the villa’s gardens. Next to the gardens are the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, terrace furnished with sofas and lounge chairs and a lovely alfresco dining area. Your reservation includes a housekeeping service, climate control, satellite television and high-speed Internet.
Villa Sorrento has been built over two floors and divided into a main building and an independent annex. The interior color scheme combines soft lighting and natural colors to create an inviting ambience. The main building houses a spacious living area with sliding glass doors opening to the terrace. The dining room contains an elegant table capable of hosting everyone at once. The stylish and well equipped kitchen features a central island allowing for chats with friends while preparing a meal or enjoying a drink.
All five bedrooms have been exquisitely fitted and each has a plush bed and en-suite bathroom. Two of the three bedrooms in the main building have double beds and the third has two twin beds. All of the suites offer balcony access with gorgeous panoramic views. The other two bedrooms also have two twin beds, each and are housed within the annex, which also has a kitchenette and direct access to the alfresco dining area on the terrace.
The town of Sorrento is only a short walk away from Villa Sorrento. Tours of the area are very popular and could include any number of specialty interests such as boat tours of the bay and the surrounding islands, or nature hikes. Shopping and nightlife are centered along Corso Italia, full of hand-crafted marquetry, tablecloths, colored sandals and local gastronomy. Enjoy the sweet life in the Amalfi Coast!
“Italian Modern Architecture Made Sorrento So Comfortable”
Left on 04/27/2013 for a stay in April 2013 | MaryReviewed Apr 27, 2013Stayed Apr 2013
We have always rented or stayed in renovated historical houses. This our first very modern architectural home with many modern conveniences. All bedrooms had great bathrooms (though the master bedroom double bath nearly took all the hot water to fill). All of our guests had great privacy as well as fantastic gathering places, whether kitchen, living room (2) or several outdoor deck areas with great views of the gulf and town. Loved our afternoon walks up to Hotel President for apps and rose--hotel has a great vista of Sorrentine gulf. Loved cooking in the kitchen and eating in and out, lounging in the comfortable conversational areas both inside and out. We and our guests wish the fireplace and hot tub would have been operational, but seems the owner already knew they were not. Plans to replace hot tub sometime in the future. No comment on use of fireplace. Very easy to get around in off-season in Sorrento and surrounding area. Convenient to town, Capri, Positano. etc. - Mary F., California, USA
