Sunny and comfy in the very center of Split Split, Dalmatia, Croatia
Additional Location Information
The apartment is located in an elegant and safe neighborhood in central Split, at, just a few mins walk from the main Split attractions - Diocletian palace, St. Duje cathedral, the Riva (waterfront promenade) - a fascinating, open-air city's living room, as well as from the passenger sea port, bus and train station and airport shuttle terminal. A grocery shop, pharmacy and bakery are just steps away from the building. The parking in the area is free of charge, but sometimes finding a free place might take a few minutes. However, just a bit of patience, one or two circles around the block, and you'll spot a free place somewhere around the building.
The colorful open-air market (Pazar) is, again, at 3 mins walk from the building. There (at the market) is also a local bus station. Local buses can take you to the beaches in and around the city, or to one of many huge brand new shopping malls.
15-20 mins of pleasant walk from the apartment across the Riva or through the Diocletian palace, and then along the elegant, recently renovated western waterfront promenade, and you'll find yourself at the footstep of the Marjan - an iconic hill and city green park. And then, it's up to you - jogging, walking, admiring the city view or just having a romantic getaway from the city hustle and bustle. In this area, you can visit the Museum of Croatian archeological monuments and Meštrović's gallery (Ivan Meštrović, the greatest Croatian sculptor of all times, Rodin's student), as well as Villa Dalmacija - a former summer residence of Maršal Tito, today the building of MEDIls - Mediteranian Institute of life sciences.
Enjoy your evening beer, or morning coffee, like the locals do, in one of many cafes lined up along the Riva - central waterfront promenade. From one side the walls of the 2000 years old Diocletian palace, and from the other - yachts and the magnificent view over the city port.
Wander the narrow streets of the Diocletian palace, visit the museums, relax in one of many restaurants and bars for a quick bite, talk to locals, sit and enjoy the amazingly preserved ingenious old Roman architecture.
Go play "picigin" at the iconic Bačvice beach. It is a traditional ball game of Split. Fifteen minutes walk from the apartment and you're there. A sandy crick, elegant coffee shops, bunch of youngsters. Very cool.
