Around the town of Blue Ridge, GA, miles of rugged wilderness offer endless beauty and natural vistas during all four seasons of the year. The Blue Ridge Mountains, which form a portion of the Appalachian Mountain Range that runs north-south across Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania, are a vital part of America's natural heritage. The area's popularity as a summer destination is increasing, partly due to rising interest in close-to-home vacations among Georgia residents, who can appreciate the area's local treasures despite living here all year long. For your stay, find a vacation rental on or close to the parkway, which will make it easy to explore the unforgettable waterfalls, wildflower fields, and wildlife viewing opportunities that are just a hike or horseback ride away.
If you're looking for things to do in and around Blue Ridge, here are a few suggestions:
-Hiking: The Benton MacKaye and Duncan trails offer beautiful access to the Cohutta National Forest just west of Blue Ridge.
-Boating and canoeing: Lake Blue Ridge, an eleven mile lake nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offers a perfect place to rent a jet ski, take out a pontoon boat from one of several launch sites, or rent a canoe. Nearby Lake Notterly also offers excellent fishing and water sport options.
-Horseback riding: There's no better way to experience the rugged beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountain trails.
-Local wineries: Sample award winning wine varieties at Crane Creek Winery, Three Sisters, or Frogtown Cellars, among many others.
-Festivals: Schedule your trip in May for the Annual Arts in the Park Festival, or come on July 4th for the Blue Ridge Fireworks display and Old Timer's Day, a celebration involving local crafts, delicious ice cream, and great entertainment.

Communication with the owner/property manager was good. They were helpful enough in helping me understand some great things to do in Blue Ridge. Overall their communication from the booking request thru arrival was good.
The cabin is great! The jacuzzi was clean and lovely; the top's latches that lock it closed do not work; I have a 4 year old that I worried he would open it and fall in.
The bathrooms are clean!
There is barely cell phone coverage there. Different devices had no problems and others had a problem the whole time. GPS was my only concern, but that's a problem just being in the Blue Ridge Mountains/National Forest.
The beds were comfy! The sheets had a few suspect things in them (dead bugs and cabin dust), but I didn't mind, just brushed them off and slept fine!
The home was well equipped for a family to cook and fill the fridge with plenty of tools to work with to create some nice meals. You may want to bring paper towels, tin foil and plastic wrap with you.
There is a dog Gage that will great you! He is a sweety!
I would like to let you know that this cabin takes 40 minutes for a non-mountain driven driver to get up to the cabin and back down to head to the city or interstate...so if you plan on day trips, add that to your travel time.
And lastly, using the second driveway was easier to drive up!
The home is beautiful and is all and more than described. We especially enjoyed the loft bedroom with huge TV and great views. The barbecue, hammock and well-outfitted kitchen provided everything we needed for a comfortable and fun stay.
What a great cozy and lovely cabin! The view is amazing, I could sit on the deck for hours. The cabin is wonderfully clean. The owner's care for detail and decorating
shows throughout the cabin. They have thought of everything to make your stay a pleasure. The location to Blue Ridge is a plus. You are close to shopping, restaurants, hiking, fishing, and boating. There is something for everyone! We had such a relaxing and much needed get away. We can not wait to go again! Thanks for sharing your Happy Place!
"Cabin at great location with all you need for a pleasant stay"
Left on 06/21/2015 for a stay in June 2015
We rented the "Bear Tracks" log cabin being locals out of the Atlanta suburbs. We received great directions and instructions on how to access the cabin from the owner. If you rent this cabin make sure you follow the instructions to the detail. I've put the car's GPS and Google Maps to the tests on how to get there neither are up to date for this address.
Before the trip the owner (Angie) was superb and fast in answering questions about the place, attractions, hiking routes, and even provided ideas about what to visit and do with teenage kids.
The house has everything you need, just bring your food and drinks, maybe some extra towels depending on how many you are, although enough are provided. A lot of detail has been put to furnish and equipping the cabin. Wi-fi (if you need it) is fast enough. We used the hot tub, which works great and it's very spacious and comfortable. When we arrived everything was very clean and in perfect condition.
The cabin's location is great for hiking and to stay close to Blue Ridge. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Our trip's purpose was primarily doing hiking, kayaking, rafting, etc. Everything was 15-20 min. distance which is ok. I recommend visiting Blue Ridge's chamber of commerce/welcome center for maps, further recommendations, etc. it is really worth it and takes less than 10 minutes!
Again, thank you for such a pleasant and smooth easy experience, we will definitely come back as soon as we get a chance!
