This house is gorgeous!! Stunning inside and the the view of the outside will be amazing all year round. The only reason this house did not receive 5 stars is that it is a new build and has some kinks to work out. First the things that have addressed with the lodging management company for the owner to consider or address. Pls note we have sent these comments out already, so nothing in this review should be a shock to the owners nor the lodging company.
One there is construction in this part of Shock Hill, which leaves the area a bit muddier than normal, as well as during the day there is construction noise, which is to be completed by 7pm we were told after we inquired about when they needed to holt the noise.
Two there is not street sign with the name the street and it does not show up in google maps or waze. We only found the house b/c of a satellite picture of the Shock Hill development which narrowed our search and then with the guided help of contractor in the neighborhood. This all transpired at night in the pitch dark after the lodging company was closed for the evening.. argh... oh and forgot to mention there were no lights on in the house, so we couldn't even see a house #.
Next, the hot tub is outside, you must wear house shoes to the hot tub, there is no sign to indicate this.. but trust me, its essential.
The heat in the house needs calibrated. There are radiant heat floors however, even with adjusting thermostats, we couldn't get the heat at a comfortable temp of 69-70 in the house, the entire week.
There is no outside furniture... apparently they will not put this out until spring. This is a shame as the weather was beautiful and not everyone in out group was on the ski hills and we had mostly blue sky days, which would had been nice to sit on their gorgeous patio.
A fuse in the kitchen and mudroom kept blowing out and had to be reset daily.
Remember also if you are cooking you need to take acct the altitude. We found this out during dinner the hard way:(
A few things to consider that aren't in our notes to the management company is:
One, The bunk room is small and tight and there is not enough room for luggage in that room, we had to store the luggage in the den.
The two two en suite bedrooms are on the small side compared to the master which is huge.
The living room is large, however, the furniture is not necessarily super comfy. The den furniture is very comfy however.
This house however is gorgeous. i usually don't rent anything that has "lived in" looking furniture. Here... everything is brand new and gorgeous. The kitchen is well stocked and amazing with all new appliances. Great that there is a hot tub on premise. There is also an outside firepit... however, no furniture around the fire pit or s'more sticks for roasting marshmallows.
There is a two car garage and ample room to properly stock ski's and boots, etc.
Location... is amazing. it is within a block of the Shock Hill gondola station. Two stops up and you are at Peak 8, one stop down... and you are in town. The view of the mountains is picture card perfect. And the location is in, I believe a reserve.
The management company finally was pretty amazing. Very attentive (except for the night we could not find the house) and very prompt in addressing questions and concerns. Additionally, there is a fantastic rental book in the house with all the ends and outs of the house (that they knew of at the time) and some additional info on Breck. We would definitely rent from this management company again!!
We would love to rent this house again... however.. a few things would need to be addressed first.
