About Brian Head

Nestled in the Dixie National Forest, the town of Brian Head is surrounded by beautiful red-rock and canyon views. Add in the abundance of outdoor activities, historical sites, and friendly locals, and it's easy to see how Brian Head has become one of the premier vacation destinations in the state. Most of the shops and restaurants throughout Brian Head can be found along Main Street, but the town is small enough that anything you wish to reach can be accessed by foot.

While you're in Brian Head, be sure to also make time for these activities and must-see destinations that highlight the beautiful outdoor scenery of the region:

  • Go Skiing: With a base elevation of over 9,600 feet, Brian Head is the highest point in the region, which means that the mountains are full of white snow perfect for skiing in the winter months.
  • Marathon Trail: For an afternoon of hiking, this site has an excellent variety of terrain and scenery for all skill levels and ages.
  • Scout Camp Loop: A historic steam engine and beautiful alpine meadows are some of the highlights of this local trail.
  • Dixie National Forest: Located just east of Brighton, this forest is a popular site among locals for camping, hiking, and tubing.

Despite the small size of Brian Head, there are plenty of big events held in the town throughout the year. Take part in a truly unique experience at the Two-on-Two Snow Basketball Tournament in March, cheer on the riders competing in the ski competition known as Rail Jam in April, or enjoy the games and live performances that are part of the Spring Carnival in April.

Luckily, there's a vacation rental available in Brian Head that has everything you need for a perfect getaway. Rent a luxury condo downtown, or book a cabin in the woods close to the mountains and skiing options for a perfect home away from home.

In addition to all the attractions within Brian Head, one of the main appeals of the area is its close proximity to several other cozy towns and villages. If you have some extra time to explore, visit the desert scenery of Payson and the historical attractions of Cedar City.

Cedar Breaks Lodge Studio Condo sleeps 4
Nice to have a kitchenette!

We stayed at the Taylor Condo the week after Christmas for 7 nights. The condo was just enough for the 4 of us to rest in the evenings but be active and skiing in the day. The condo had a kitchenette which was great. It was a small 2 burner electric stove with an overhead exhaust fan. The owner had misc kitchen items, including pans, pots, silverware, bowls, glasses and coffee cups. There was a microwave and an under the counter refrigerator. There was a toaster oven to use and a george foreman grill. I brought my own crockpot for a few of our meals. Worked out fabulous! There was a large window in the room that had functioning windows. The wall heater worked good. The condo stayed warm without even using the heater when it was 16 degrees at night. The condo was dated, but was fine for what we needed. We liked that we were near the Navajo Chair lift. We walked right over to the lift from the underground parking garage because we kept our skiis/snowboards in the car overnight. The lodge had 2 large spas, a pool, a game room, restaurant, gift shop, DVD rentals, even playing cards rental, and there was a shuttle stop at the entry. Communication with the owner exceeded my expectations as Helen always responded within 2-6 hours. Using FlipKey was very easy too. The booking and payment was flawless. Prices were down to the penny accurate, which is beginning to be rare on other booking sites.see more
