“We love to hear the ocean!” Georgina treated us like family. She communicated everything we needed to know prior to our arrival & departure. The windows in each room slide open & we went to sleep & awoke each day listening to the ocean & overlooking it along with the gorgeous green mountains. ust incredible! Lots of cute places to eat a few minute stroll up the road. The roof top pool & lounge is like being on a yacht. Easy access to the beach & nice clean sand. We cant wait to come back!

“If you are seeking refuge from your hustle bustle life, Sarah's Casitas is place for you!” Though Sarah could not meet with me during my visit, she coordinated my two day stay remotely. Cat Mandel gave me the grand tour of beautiful Coronado, and showed the properties that Sarah has for sale. These properties were all "beach front" units, with very favorable pricing. I was also taken to several shopping locations, including Machetazo, where we got a bite to eat. I also bought pair of swim trunks to take a dip in the pool at the Casitas property. On the second day, Ann Herbelet took me to Playa Blanca. I saw Latin America's largest pool. A saltwater pool so large, there were jetskierers in it! The Panama Living staff were very friendly and professonal. I highly recommend using them all your real estate needs. At the casita, the grounds were well kept, and my room was very comfortable. I really appreciated the informational binder Sarah put together for her guests. It had everything in it, including where to eat, important phone numbers for an emergency, shopping information, how to use the TV, how to set up the prepay phone, including where go get a SIM card for it. Thank you Sarah, for a relaxing yet productive business/leisure visit. I look forward to working with you and your team in the future. Oh, I almost forgot! About Playa Coronado
Native Americans hunted and fished in the area long before the arrival of the Spanish. The Spanish explorer, Rodrigo de Bastidas, is credited with discovering Panama in 1501.
In the 1940s, the area was a collection of scattered ranches. However, residents wouldn't recognize it now. The area around Playa Coronado was agricultural until Robert Eisenman founded modern Playa Coronado in 1941.
The people who lived in the area mainly lived on the bounty of the sea. Now Playa Coronado has a beach culture.
The local cuisine consists mainly of fish and seafood, but, increasingly, the cuisine is geared towards multinational tastes.
If you love the beach and water sports, this is the ideal vacation spot for you.
What to do in Playa Coronado
The most popular things to do in Playa Coronado are swimming, water sports and lazing on the beach. For the very best waves, go to nearby Playa Malibu.
However, if you’re a wildlife enthusiast, there's a bird-watching trail near the village gate. If you get bored with the beach—which is unlikely!—you can also go horse-riding and explore the area. Gold fans will love the golf course at Playa Coronado.
Panama City is just an hour away, and no trip to Panama would be complete without seeing the famous Panama Canal. Take the 3-hour tour of Casco Antiguo and the Miraflores Locks. Then visit the Miraflores visitor center.
Visit the museums and churches in historic Casco Viejo. These really shouldn't be missed. The architecture is wonderful.
You can also visit Emberá village in Chagres National Park, where you can discover the fascinating history of the native Emberá tribe, and their culture.
Top travel tips for Playa Coronado
You can hire a driver if you book one before your vacation, or drive from the Tocumen International Airport yourself (you can rent a car at the airport). Alternatively, there's the airport shuttle service, Panama RoadRunners, which you book in advance.
If you are buying cheap items, or not going far by taxi, be sure to have small change with you. Most taxis and small shops won't accept twenty dollar bills.
If you walk under palm trees, be careful of falling coconuts. They can do a lot of damage—but if you find one, crack it open and have a taste!
Playa Coronado is great for a beach vacation. If you are a fruit lover, you can get juicy mangoes, papaya, bananas and pineapples all in season.
