"Lovely well equipped cottage offering privacy, lovely surroundings and easy access to the Hana area."

Staying at the Kolea Cottage was a wonderful experience. The house was perfect for the two of us but would certainly accommodate another couple or a family with children. We especially loved the porch, the great room, the privacy, the lovely house design and the beautiful surroundings. The house was well equipped and the kitchen very pleasant to work in. We also found the location very convenient and would definitely recommend it to others interested in staying in this area.
"Great Hawaiian atmosphere in a secluded, modern, rural cottage."

I enjoyed my stay of one week. The cottage is new throughout with ample, quality appointments and custom bamboo accents... very attractive. The kitchen is complete with all the gear you will need if you cook (except a standard oven). Growth of vegetation has obscured the view of the somewhat far off view of the ocean. The location is secluded, which makes it a little difficult to find, but the lot is very nice and well tended. The owners are nearby, but not intrusive. Michelle checked if everything was OK, and if I needed anything... a very pleasant person. The location is out of the way, as are most places in rural Hana. Hamoa Beach (1+ mile distant) is a nice swimming beach, and offers modest surfing. I would especially recommend the Bamboo Cottage to a couple who want "to get away from it all," including their smart phones. Also note that Hana has two grocery stores which are a bit more expensive, but have a broad range of goods... much more than convenience stores.
The place is so beautiful, clean and nicely decorated, tom and Vicki even went the extra mile , leaving us great coffee and snacks to enjoy. Towels were fluffy, sheets were soft and the whole place was just a great place to stay, we plan to visit yearly when we come to hana, we will stay there❤️
My girlfriend and I were looking to take a trip to Hana and then proceed the next day all the way around the volcano.
The options to stay overnight in Hana are very limited and very expensive. So we were lucky to stumble on this option to rent camping gear and stay at the State park. It turned out fantastic. We slept in earshot of the roaring waves.
You have to get your camping pass seperatly but all the gear you need is provided. It was clean and in good condition.
Even though it rained the gear kept us dry and comfortable.
Michella was responsive and it was a breeze to organize a pick up and drop off time in Kihei.
If you have camped before I highly suggest this for cheap and fun way of overnight minutes away from Hana.
Be sure to rent a car that lets you go all the way around the island. It is hard to describe the drive and the experiences along the way without using too many superlatives.
