“We had a wonderful experience and appreciated having a spotless,” Two big thumbs up for a memorable, unique vacation! We had the best time seeing a lot of sights and experiencing the various area attractions. The Blue Ridge Mountains wrapped in early morning fog were almost ethereal in their beauty, and staying in such a lovely, homey cabin was truly a joy. The cabin was welcoming and cozy in every way -- clean, very well kept, and so comfortable. The scenery was breathtaking from the rocking chairs on the wraparound deck. Although we did not use the hot tub, it was available for us to enjoy. Our entire stay there was a delight, a welcome and warm haven after the harsh Wisconsin winter. We thank you so much for giving so much attention to detail. We will surely tell of our experience to our friends. Thanks again!! Jeanne and Sheryl Ebli Coon Valley, Wisconsin

“Great Tradition” We just returned from our third college retreat at Moose Hollow Lodge and could not ask for a better experience. The location is convenient yet secluded and serene. The lodge itself is comfortable and provides so much for entertainment, that several of our group never ventured out of the cabin- who needs go carts when you have Ms. Pacman! Not only was the lodge wonderful, but the staff was great and understanding. I recommend Moose Hollow to groups and will definitely be returning next winter.

“Just Book It!” My wife and I have stayed in many cabins in Tennessee over the years but if you want a view you must book Cloud 9. The price is low for what you get. We even saw a bear next to the cabin. The drive to the cabin is very steep and I wouldn't drive it even in a 4X4 in snow or ice. The pictures are accurate with a few minor updates like newer Tv's. We love this cabin and have already booked it again in 2014!

“What peace and quiet with beautiful view” Want a get away to relax and have a glass of wine while sitting in a hot tub? Well this cabin provides everything from the well decorated and clean interior to the outstanding decks with views. We loved the peace and quiet. This cabin has been decorated perfectly and was so clean. The owner could not be nicer. The view from the second floor balcony was perfect to watch the sun set. Breakfast out on the main deck was also great along with the opportunity to grill some steaks out doors. Great place and I would highly reoommend it.

About Knoxville

Knoxville is a wonderful college town in eastern Tennessee. The city maintains a lively arts and cultural scene and holds numerous music festivals with an emphasis on regional bluegrass, old-time, and country music throughout the year. When it comes to sports, University of Tennessee Knoxville is an athletic powerhouse, ardently loved and supported by the city's residents. Visitors can join in the fun during one of the college's home games, an unforgettable way to experience the local culture.

Eastern Tennessee boasts a pleasingly temperate climate, making it an appropriate destination during any season. Visiting in the spring can be particularly satisfying for nature lovers, when the blooming Dogwood trees are a spectacular sight to behold. For those who love the great outdoors, there are year-round activities in and around the city. In particular, cycling, hiking, and camping are popular in the nearby Smokey Mountains. For golfers, there are 13 courses in Knoxville alone, with more than 25 additional courses in the immediate vicinity.

When in Knoxville, don't miss:

  • Knoxville Zoo: One of the top destinations in town, the zoo boasts a surprisingly vast collection of African mammals, along with other exotic species.
  • Smokey Mountains: Don't visit Knoxville without taking a trip to the beautiful and beloved mountain range, just a half-hour drive from the city.
  • Volunteer Landing: Take a stroll along this wonderful waterfront walkway and marina along the shores of the Tennessee River, dotted with historic placards, shops, and cafes.
  • Knoxville Museum of Art: Great for art lovers, the Knoxville Museum boasts a 53,000-square foot gallery with a small permanent collection and rotating monthly exhibits of contemporary art.
  • Alex Haley Statue: A huge statue of author and former Knoxville resident Alex Haley is located in Morningside Park.
  • Armstrong-Lockett House & W.P. Toms Memorial Gardens: Visit this nicely refurbished 19th century mansion, which features a unique collection of English and American period furniture.

Live like a local in Knoxville by staying in a vacation rental. An apartment rental or condo rental near the university will put you close to Knoxville's restaurants, coffee shops, and music venues. Alternately, the lovely woods around Knoxville are a great place to settle into a cabin rental, surrounded by Dogwood trees.
