"Just the right amount of quiet - yet close to the action."
Left on 01/11/2017 for a stay in January 2017
In all of my reviews, I try to take my personal bias out of the equation and just give the straight facts so that other travelers can decide for themselves if the establishment fits their needs. I'm a hard grader - so with that in mind:
The Pros: Clean modern design with the feel of a studio apartment or condo, but with hotel services like bellman, housekeeping and room service. Plus, the casino and restaurants of a resort hotel are only a 5 minute walk. The owner is professional and fast to reply to inquiries
The Cons: The Palms Place as well as the attached casino are a bit dated and could use a modern re-fresh.
Good Customer Service: If you choose to stay here you’re renting directly from the owner who is professional and very responsive. You are treated by the staff of Palms Place like a hotel guest – and with very good customer service. I had no issues with my stay, but in talking with other guests who had problems with their rooms or keys, the 24 hour staff was very accommodating. Prior to my arrival I had a few questions for the owner - He answered all questions via text or e-mail within minutes, and I really appreciated that level of responsiveness.
Nice Room: This unit is like a studio apartment or condo ( a little bigger than an average hotel room) with a modern design and clean lines (pictures posted by owner are accurate). It’s not overly luxurious, but it was above average and very clean (I’m a stickler for cleanliness). This particular unit is on the 33rd floor and does not have a view of the strip, but it does have a nice mountain view that lights up like neon with the sunrise and boasts very nice sunsets.
Nice Amenities: The Palms Place has its own Spa and workout facilities (extra charge) as well as its own pool (very nice pool) Plus there is a restaurant/bar attached to the pool (Café 6) which has a cool American bistro type menu and a very friendly wait staff. Palms Place has a quiet and professional atmosphere… but when you’re ready to hit the casino or if you’re looking for a few different restaurant choices, its only a five-minute walk to the Palms Casino (indoors with moving walkways).
Style: The only negative (and its subjective) is that I think the Plams Place is looking a little dated and could use a refresh on the lobby and the hallways. The actual room has contemporary feel and is fine. All in all the Palms Place’s still nice, but looks like it was built 20 years ago.
Uber: I chose Uber over traditional taxi service in Vegas – It was quick and easy to get a ride; and less expensive than a cab (including from the airport). Some hotels give the Uber drivers a hard time -but the Palms Place welcomes them.
Final Notes: I chose this location because I was attending CES and wanted a nice place to stay without paying the extortion rates demanded by the hotels. The price was reasonable and the quality was above most Vegas standard hotel accommodations.
We booked this condo for 3 nights at the last minute due to our pre-booked accommodation being cancelled. The owner replied to our enquiry immediately and answered all emails very promptly and emailed during our stay to check everything was ok. Although we had to go to a different building close by, the check-in and out was easy. The condo itself was in a fantastic location. Great for us as we didn't want to be in the centre of Vegas but it was only half hour drive away. The condo was spotlessly clean and had everything we wanted to self cater but there were restaurants in the complex if you wanted to eat out and a grocery store which had quite a good selection of food. We had a nice balcony overlooking the pool and could use all of the facilities. We had very easy access to Lake Mead and an hour's drive to Valley of Fire State Park. We would definitely stay here again if we flew into Las Vegas.
This condo is better than I anticipated - very large, exceptionally clean with all the amenities of a hotel & condo rolled into one. Property was easy to book and the concierge provided lots of info on the area.
This house is AMAZING! We went to Vegas for a basketball tournament and this house was perfect.. The oasis backyard had everything the kids needed.. They loved it so much that we didn't have to go anywhere else for fun. When it was time to get in the car to go home, my son said, "wait, I want to say bye to the house one more time." Lol. The owner Marc gave us a personal tour of the home and made us feel very welcomed. I loved it! Would definitely rent again.
