“Kelly's Property Description Is Spot On.” Excellent property in a great location. Easy walk to either Waikiki beach or ala Moana Park.Thank you so much to the owner Kelly, she always replied promptly to all emails and was very professional. I have to admit I was a little nervous booking something online but I can promise the condo is just like the pictures. Everything was clean and spotless and the murphy bed was very comfy, the beautiful kitchen is full equiped. Thanks again Kelly and we can't wait to come back again!

“Beautiful, clean, spacious condo with amazing views and location” My husband and I stayed in this condo with our 2 boys as well as his parents. We found that we had lots of room for all of us. The unobstructed views from the 2 lanais were absolutely beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. The kitchen was well stocked and we had more than enough towels and linens. ( bring your own beach towel though or buy some for a souvenir) Our boys enjoyed using the snorkelling gear. The double beds were a touch hard for my tastes but comfortable enough. The location was perfect for us. The beach was within easy walking distance and we enjoyed swimming in the lagoon as well. I would absolutely recommend this condo, we would love to return! Thank you Dainora for a wonderful stay and ease of rental.

“Very enjoyable, relaxing and peaceful amongst the local people not in the rat race of touristy Waikiki.” We did not rent a car and used the local bus system to travel everywhere which was great but time consuming. The accommodation is at least an hour from Honolulu and Waikiki so travelling on a bus late at night is not ideal, however the bus does stop outside the condo complex. The condo facilities are comfortable with access to 2 pools, it is on the 3rd floor with stair access only which is hard with heavy luggage, however being higher up means there are sea views and the benefit of fresh breezes. We found the owner friendly and approachable.

“Great” We arrived late after 3 weeks in usa mainland, where we did not stop. Getting our keys and into theunit was so easy. It was so close to get to everything from the unit. We had a family of five and with the sofa bed out it was quite tight. Maybe not so many little tables and trinkets. But that would be our only complaint. Everything was just as the photos showed and a great place for a family. We went and did food shopping at safeway, but then found Wallmart cheaper. Thanks heaps for having us

“The sound of the waves, right outside your door, are like a lull” We had a "rough time" getting here (mechanical problems with the plane, canceled flight, etc.) but the cottage soothed our tired souls! We found the drum of the waves to be the best lullaby and the fresh air and abundant sunshine to renew our spirits. We appreciated the personal art on the walls and the large open space. For folks who enjoy cooking with local produce, the well stocked kitchen, the large number of pots/pans/utensils, and the full sized refrigerator are perfect. There was plenty of hot water in the shower (and good water pressure!), the furniture was comfortable (brought back memories of beach houses from our childhood), and the large counter surface in the "dressing room" was perfect for all of our "stuff". We used the outdoor patio table for several breakfasts and dinners, watched a neighbor vacationer fish from the sea wall, and took daily walks on the nearly deserted beach. There were many informative books in the cottage along with maps, Dvds, etc. We used the guide books but were too busy enjoying Oahu to need any other form of entertainment! Although we have traveled extensively in the past few years, this was our first trip to Hawaii. We have already recommended the cottage to family and friends - thank you, Peter, for sharing your wonderful home.

The ocean, with the lagoon, is fantastic to swim and play in, all the time knowing that the kids are safe. The condo was excellent with all of the current amenities, a fantastic view, and a spatious design.

“17 great days” Firstly, dealing with Kevin is not just professional, but friendly and helpful. The whole communication, payment and access process was great. The main room is large by Waikiki standards. I did not cook but it was great to have knives and dishes when I cut up the pineapples. I could check-in early so that was an added advantage, and the condo was spotless. Would happily stay there again, yes sometimes its a bit noisy but Waikiki is not a quiet city, no matter where you stay. Mahalo Kevin

“Perfect Location... The "Real" Hawaii” Being from New Hampshire, Hale Malaekahana reminded me of a Lake House dropped on a perfect stretch of Hawaiian beach, close to the North Shore of Oahu. If you're looking for marble floors and granite counters, stay in Waikiki...if you want a true feel for the "Country" of Hawaii, grab a week or more at Hale Malaekahana!! The house and kitchen were very well equipped for anything that you would need, including surf boards, life jackets, beach chairs/mats, snorkel gear and a Webber Grill for grilling up some of the fresh caught fish that you can get from the locals. Forget about the pricey restaurants in Honolulu, experience the local garlic shrimp and Huli chicken along the route, you'll be glad you stayed up here!! Nothing more relaxing than falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking early to an awesome sunrise and coffee on the beach. Stan and Marcia ( although we didn't meet them personally) were very responsive to e-mails and calls during the booking process and our rental went off without a hitch. They even graciously accommodated our request for a late check-out on departure day as we had a late flight and we wanted to soak up every minute of Sun we could out front on the beach!!

“Location, Location, Location!” The condo is just a short walk to the beach which we enjoyed daily. It's close to many great restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. We caught the bus right outside the door for travel to all of our sightseeing destinations. With a grocery store just a few blocks away we had easy access to the things we needed to prepare most of our meals in the kitchen. We loved having breakfast and coffee out on the lanai each morning looking out at the ocean view. The condo was clean and comfortable. The manager was quick to respond. We look forward to going back!

“Beautiful Waikiki” Great location, central waikiki, close to everything, beaches, restaurants, grocery shopping, entertainmwnt. The most beautiful view from the large lanai, beach chairs, boogie boards. Very quiet unit on the 30th floor. LOVE the warm water pool. Definitely want to come back soon and stay longer.

“Relaxing stay in Punalu'u” Our family stayed in condo #401, it was perfect and exceeded our expectations. The condo has everything you need and more. We had an incredible vacation. The condo has a gorgeous view of the ocean and a big, comfy balcony to sit on and enjoy the view! It's just a short walk across the lawn to the water. The condo itself is lovely and clean with a complete kitchen, not lacking anything a cook would need. We had a lot of meals in the condo and that helps too if you're on a special diet or just want to save on meals. The beds are very comfortable too! It's the perfect place for a family with kids to stay, everything you need is there, even a washer and dryer! Punalu'u is serene and beautiful. We plan on returning soon!

“Great location at an affordable price!” This little condo was perfect for our needs. The location served as the perfect place for me to experience Waikiki for the first time. Just a short walk to Waikiki beach, Dukes, Island Vintage coffee, and shopping. We really only used the room for showers and sleeping (3 days 2 nights) so the size was just fine. If the stay was longer I would have preferred a more conventional kitchen with a range but we ended up eating out for the most part. Mark was great, very accessible by phone and took care of a little hiccup with the cleaner timely and professionally. I would absolutely stay here again for short trips to Waikiki!

About Oahu

With a nickname like 'the gathering place,' Oahu is a melting pot of ethnicities, activities and personalities. As the governmental and cultural capital of Hawaii, Oahu has a pulse like none other. Hawaiian vacationers seek out the rare mix of life that defines the island. In Oahu, the Pacific Rim cuisine is infused with the piping hot noodles of Japan, the easy-going island outlook is contrasted with the humble solemnity of Pearl Harbor, and Honolulu's metropolis bustles with the serene volcanic parks rising into a jade oblivion in the distance.

With several communities dappling the coasts, each region of the island offers something to fulfill any notion of a dream Hawaiian vacation. Honolulu and Waikiki flank the southern coast, which is perhaps, the most famed area in Hawaii. Honolulu, the vibrant capitol, has a spunky beat, combining the laid-back island mentality with the fast-paced veracity of the city. Waikiki has been voted one of the best beaches countless times and with Diamond Head watching over beach dwellers, it's no wonder why. At the opposite end of the island, the North Shore is widely considered the best place in the world for surfing. At any time of the year, salty surfers glide over the sparkling ocean while 20 foot waves chase them to the shore.

Here are a few additional suggestions to help you plan your trip:

  • Take a surf lesson: There are plenty of excellent surfing schools along the North shore with skilled, patient teachers who can have you up and hitting the waves in no time.
  • Go snorkeling in the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve: Encounter brilliantly colored fish, sea turtles and protected live coral in this spectacular preserve.
  • Take the scenic drive to Makapu'u Point: Explore lively tide pools, take a beautiful hike up a paved path, and experience breathtaking views from the overlook.
  • Visit the Ala Moana Beach Park: This is a great place to relax and a safe calm swimming spot for small children. Have a family picnic in this serene setting close to public facilities, shopping areas, and a jogging path.
  • See the Manoa Falls: Just outside of Honolulu, take the hour long hike to the spectacular 100 foot high Manoa Falls.
  • Visit the Polynesian Cultural Center: Learn more about Polynesian Island heritage with a visit to this 42-acre facility on the North Shore.

After a long day of adventures in paradise, watch the sunset from a deck of a luxury Oahu dinner cruise, and then retire to your beautiful beach condo and enjoy a relaxed evening with someone special. Rent a romantic vacation rental just a few steps from the beach, or book a sprawling, elegant vacation home with room for your family and friends. This area is a popular choice for couples planning Oahu weddings or families gathering for reunions. While you're visiting Oahu, don't miss a chance to explore Maui and Kauai as well.

Quaint little house

The house it self is perfect for a couples get away, but it can definitely fit 5. Rachel and Paul are the sweetest people ever! They love to talk and get to know you, but they also respect your space. It’s a 5 min walk to the beach plus you’re a 5 min drive into town so if you want to get groceries it’s super easy. I would know I got mine whilst riding a bike. There is so much to do in Kailua and they give you a map of the town which is super cool! Even though there is a lot to do, it is much quieter than Waikiki and you truly get to enjoy your time at the beach. This trip was the best experience I’ve had in Oahu for a cheap price! I would book with them again it was that amazing!see more
