Recent reviews for San Francisco

"It was perfect for us!"

Left on 07/13/2017 for a stay in July 2017
The only problem was the master was very light in the am without shades, just got us going earlier in the morning. We really loved all the great local coffee shops and restaurants on the same street. Great access to public transportation.

Valeria was a great host. Everything was very easily accessible from the apartment. We had a fantastic time!

"Our stay in San Francisco city area"

Left on 03/29/2017 for a stay in March 2017
Good location 3 easy walking blocks to Union Square and a few good restaurants close by - Italian, Japanese and a pub which was great for breakfast. Our accommodation was excellent, good view over city being on 10th floor and staff were very friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay there on another visit to San Francisco.

"Cozy and perfect!"

Quite a cute, quiet studio in a perfect neighborhood... wonderful hosts, and great coffee! Many restaurants and shops just blocks away, as well as a muni station to take you downtown. Lots of parking on street, in perfectly safe and guilt neighborhood. Even a perk of the ocean out bedroom window!

"Great location with wonderful host family."

Left on 01/15/2017 for a stay in January 2017
Right near 24th Mission BART and the MUNI line on Van Ness - super easy to access everything. Great host family with nice kids and a couple dogs. Dogs do bark from time to time during the day, but nothing unusual or disruptive - after all, dogs bark. Very helpful with information about where to eat and visit in the city. Space itself is very comfortable for 1-2 travelers.

What San Francisco Experts are Saying

Food

Claire Fischer

With more restaurants per capita than any other city in the nation, San Francisco will blow your taste buds away. No matter what type of cuisine you are after, you will be able to find it. If you're looking for some breakfast options check out Dynamo Donut, Brendas Soulfood Kitchen, or Tartine Bakery. Dynamo Donut offers mind blowing donut flavors including Maple Glazed Bacon Apple, Lemon Sichuan, and Chocolate Rose. If you are lucky enough to be around for brunch on a Sunday make reservations at Zuni Cafe - they have one of the best bloody marys in the city.

The Ferry Building is the place to be come lunch time. If it's a Saturday you should indulge in the Food Trucks outside; Roli Roti is a personal favorite. Any other day of the week you can find amazing options inside such as the sandwiches from Italian-inspired il Cane Rosso or Slanted Door's Out the Door eatery, featuring modern Vietnamese cooking. If you don't find yourself in that neighborhood, or just have a hankering for authentic Mexican, head over to La Taqueria at 2889 Mission Street.

If you are still hungry by dinnertime (good luck), either order in from Mission Chinese Food or eat out at Blue Plate where you will be true to San Francisco by eating local food cooked to perfection. For dessert, Bi-Rite Creamery won't disappoint. Other food attractions aside from restaurants include the ginormous Ferry Building Farmer's Market and nearby local chocolate factories - TCHO and Dandelion Chocolate.

Area Tips

Beth Perkins

"A 7x7 mile square, San Francisco is a small, walkable city with lots to see and do.

Weather: In San Francisco, if you don’t like the weather, you’re probably in the wrong neighborhood. The city has so many microclimates that there’s an app to navigate them all (sfclimates.com). Seasonal climate is a little different as well. Visitors coming to San Francisco in the summer expecting the California sun are often met with cool, foggy weather. In fact, the city is warmest in September and October!

Transportation: San Francisco operates two main public transportation systems in the city: Muni and Bart. Muni is convenient for visiting local landmarks, including Golden Gate Park, Fisherman’s Wharf and Union Square. Bart is great for traveling to the East Bay or getting to the Mission district. Download the apps for real-time info. Driving into the city? SFPark helps drivers find parking spaces more quickly. Be sure to check the meter, though, because pricing is based on demand and rates may be different depending on where you are."

Area Tips

Allison Arruda

"With mild temperatures all year round, you’ll never have to battle unbearable summer heat or an arctic-like winter. A light jacket will get you through any San Francisco day. Luckily, there is ample public transportation here (BART, bus, cable car, etc) to get you just about anywhere. Cable cars are a San Francisco staple."
