This is truly a "mini" penthouse. I am a short and fit person so didn't mind the low stair clearance and tiny bathroom but, anyone 5'10 or taller...good luck. the balcony has a great view of the ocean and mountain range,(+++) but, I found many apartments that have more space and are just as close to the beach for way less money. (You are paying for the view). After week 2, I had a "dominican fly" infestation problem. I was told "it is normal when it rains". Finally, the owner moved me to another apartment in the same building, for the second month of my stay. No "normal" DR flies during the rain. In fact, I live in another building now and have yet to see another one. Overall my stay was good (housekeeper was the best). I should have did more research but, I didn't for the sake of expediency using FlipKey, The real jewel of living there was eating at Ottimo, everyday, the Italian restaurant downstairs. Food is the real "Italian" deal.
First off let me say Nelson was an excellent host. After we arrived at the airport he was already there. Once we got to the villa he showed us around it looks exactly like the pictures. There is also a large 65 inch tv in the living room. There are two king size bedrooms one queen. All have air conditioning. One king bedroom has its own bathroom. There is also a another bathroom in the common space. The kitchen is big. Nelson has breakfast he offers its delicious definitely try it. There is a Dog on the property bUT after first contact he doesn't bark at you just pet him he is friendly i thought so and I really do not like pets especially dogs.the villa is right down the road from classicos you can actually see it from the gate especially at night when it's all lit up at night. About a 5 minutes walk. If you on your way back from the club at night take a moto you will be at the villa in literally no more than 90 seconds. Everything about the villa was great we loved it. The only thing I can criticize is the WiFi I have been to Sosua 3 times now, I had better WiFi at my other stays.it is decent but needs a boost for speed and range. All in all Nelson is a first class host who knows everything you need to know about Sosua. You will feel like it's your beautiful home away from home. I plan on staying at Nelson's again.
This was my 13th trip to DR in 5 yrs I found my home away from home till I get my own place there. The villa is located in a perfect location you can walk to almost everywhere. Nelson and his wife made me feel like I was at home there hospitality was awesome. It is also visitor friendly and I mean all visitors. Nelsons wife Tonya will also cook for you and she can cool well.
I recently stayed at what I consider to be my 2nd home The Garden Condos. My motto is work hard, play hard & it's nothing like a relaxing quiet vacation rental. Having done the hotel thing in Sosua on my early visits, it's nothing like the feeling like home that Garden Condos gives you. Don't get me wrong I love the Sosua strip & prefer to stay away from it in a secure comfortable spot that Garden Condo#8 affords you. Not only is it reasonably priced but it's as safe & secure as it gets with well maintained grounds & a guest friendly staff & condo owner that will go far & above to make your stay an enjoyable one. The condo offers you all the comforts of home, like A/C, modern appliances, & 2 safes for your valuables protection. If you are tired of the hustle & bustle of the hotels in Sosua I recommend that you check out Garden Condo#8, where you don't have to worry about being robbed or ripped off unless you allow it.
