We stayed at Bear Lodge with family and friends for our destination wedding and everyone had a great time. The staff was sooo helpful and caring. All 7 of the condos that we rented were clean and nicely decorated, the kitchens and bathrooms were stocked with essentials, and the units are ideally located a short shuttle or short walk from the base. The on-demand shuttle was a huge perk and made getting around town so simple. I would work with Simply Steamboat (management company) anytime and really look forward to staying with them again on our next visit. They really helped make our event special and hassel free. Thanks again for everything!
Thank you for the great review. We are glad we were able to be a part of your special weekend and that everyone enjoyed themselves. We look forward to having you back.

Bear Lodge is a beautiful complex. Our vacation was great. The units are clean and (practically) brand new. The staff was very eager and polite also. Having our own hot tub was a plus and the heated pool was fun also. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We would definately stay there again.
Thanks for the review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay.

We have stayed at Trappeurs for the past 3 years, twice at Bear, once at Emerald. All have been great. Unit 6105 at Bear was fabulous. Our family of 5 plus another family of 5 shared it and loved it. Very spacious, we never felt like we were on top of each other, the amenities were perfect. Maintenance attended to a hot tub problem promptly. The hot tub deck was great and in view of the pool. I can't imagine a family wouldn't love their time here.
Thanks for the great review. This condo is huge and the patio is a great touch. We look forward to having you back again.

"We had a great stay!"

We stayed in bear lodge condo on the ground floor with 5 br. The condo
was very well set up for a multiple family visit. We had three families and
each of the "adult bedrooms" had it's own bathroom attached and king size
beds. Each of the other rooms had 2 twin beds and a bathroom, so the kids
had lots of choices.
The condo was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed.
The private hot tub was ideal, since the outdoor pool was less heated than
we would have wanted we just lowered the temperature in the private hot
tub so it would be comfortable even for the smaller kids and they played in
there after skiing more than the pool.
It is certainly close enough to walk to the slopes 5-7 minutes-especially if
you are not wearing your ski boots, but with all of the kids we used the
shuttle to get back and forth. It was very easy to use the shuttle, even for
dinner at night. They were happy to set up a pick up time early in the day,
so dinner out was easily planned.
The service from Simply Steamboat was wonderful. They were very helpful
during the reservation process, shopped and put groceries away before our
arrival and responded to our only problem (a 4-yr old somehow turned off
the filtered water on the fridge) quickly and didn't even seem to be annoyed
by having to come out and solve such a minor problem that was so
obviously our own fault.

We stayed in Jan 2010. We were 2 families total of 11 people. The condo
was absolutely beautiful. We were very comfortable and not cramped. The
outside pool was heated and the kids enjoyed our personal hot tub. The
skiing was fantastic even without a huge amount of snow. We were
concerned about the shuttle service and having to wait. However, it was
great our wait times were never longer than 5 min.. They took us anywhere
in town. We visited the tubing park and the outdoor spas. Both of them
were really fun.
The ski slopes are actually walking distance away and at the end of the day
we usually walked down the hill and we were back at the condo. There is a
small convenience store just a short walk maybe 5min. They have great
coffee and breakfast rolls baked fresh each morning.
I couldn't say enough good things. Our only complaint would have been the
heat in the unit. We were unable to adust the temp. controls. At night the
condo was so warm we had to open the windows.

The lodge itself was gorgeous, and everything was as advertised, but the real difference was Simply Steamboat anticipating literally everything and making sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely be back.
"Likely the best condo we've ever stayed at - certainly the best"

We travel heavily and have rented many ski condos in Europe and the US over 20+ years for our family of six. This one was very likely the best we've yet stayed in. The location, quality of construction, floorplan (spaceous, logical, two separated areas for two families), amenities (outdoor fireplace, very large jacuzzi, gourmet kitchen), convenience (heated parking, terry-robes for all) and decor all set it apart. Every visitor we had over the Christmas holiday was impressed with the entire package. As finicky as we are, nothing could be improved upon to our thinking.
As perfect as the unit itself was, the overall "Simply Steamboat" service we experienced was even better. From the moment of initial contact, through dealing with staggared arrival times for our family, through having Christmas gifts sent to them for placement in our unit to dealing with questions about this or that in the unit - the owners and their staff were outstanding. Constantly pleasant, ready to help in all regards, responding to every request with "no problem", available any time - the service was the best we've experienced anywhere - and this includes previous trips to Zermatt, Garmisch, St Anton, Park City and many points in between.
I recommend without reservation both this unit and in particular Simply Steamboat. You will have no regrets.

We arrived in the evening to a very warm welcome from Paul who showed us around the apartment and described how everything worked. We had requested some food shopping and the fridge was stocked with delicious fresh produce for breakfast and several subsequent meals.
The apartment is designed and furnished with ease of living and super comfort in mind. It has two wings of bedrooms and bathrooms which was ideal for us as our two families had a wing each. The showers are roomy, the beds luxurious. The stand-alone wine cooler epitomises the attention to detail.
Our granddaughter really enjoyed splashing in the swimming pool just a few steps away from our courtyard. After she had gone to bed we would sink into our private hot tub, then light the barbecue, eat and drink and as the cool evening air rolled down from the mountains we would light the fireplace . Blissful!
Around the corner from Bear Lodge is The Market on the Mountain which stocks a good range of food and freshly baked bread.
The Gondola is a short walk away and the staff there provided weather forecasts for our walks on the mountain and helped to lift the stroller and baby into the cabin.
There is a good choice of restaurants within walking distance and an even greater range in downtown Steamboat. The Boathouse on the Yampa river became a favourite for lunch.
At Paul and Louise's suggestion we hired bikes complete with baby trailer and spent a day riding the river trail visiting the botanical gardens, the hot springs and the Bud Werner library and museum along the way, ending up in an Italian restaurant for a very late lunch.
Louise and Paul's recommendations of what to see and do were tailored to our disparate group ranging in age from 15 months to 60. We took their advice and enjoyed every moment of our holiday.

This 5 bedroom unit in Bear Lodge was large & roomy enough 7 adults & 4 kids under 3.5 years old. It was nice to have the bedrooms separated, not just all in a row.
The best part was the private patio (1 of 2) with a fireplace & 8 person hottub, not to mention the direct (ground level access) to the community pool (~50 feet) that also featured 2 8-10 person hottubs.
All beds were furnished with top of the line pillows & linens including bath robes & towels.

Incredible new condo with superb amenities. Very nice location,
walking distance to the gondola. The private patio with hot tub and
fireplace were just what the doctor ordered after a long day on the
slopes. No expense was spared. Just don't rent my week!
