Howelsen Place is THE address of Old Town Steamboat. Located at the site of the famous Harbor Hotel at 7th and Lincoln, this property captures the historical significance of ski jumping by introducing a bronze statue of Carl Howelsen, the one time world record holder for ski jumping and prominent, turn of the century Steamboat Springs resident. Discover what the locals already know. Park your car, ride you bike or walk to where it's happening; restaurants, shops, movies, you name it. When you stay in the heart of downtown you have easy access to almost everything, and the free city ski shuttle can whisk you to the mountain during ski season.
The common area grill located in the courtyard of the Lincoln Building (Building B) is available to all guests staying at Howelsen Place.
Past and present are architecturally melded together to satisfy the desire for modern interiors while maintaining the spirit of western heritage. A streamlined look has been created for all the interiors at Howelsen Place. The goal was to combine metropolitan elements with traditional basics while remembering the nostalgia and history that surrounds the building. This becomes evident in the use of natural stone tile, warm woods and stainless steel accents. This transitional style is achieved by juxtaposing a warm atmosphere with the idea of an urban loft by using clean lines, geometric design, and a harmonious combination of color and pattern. Each finish was chosen to represent the essence of Steamboat. A mountain town full of history that embraces modern luxuries while preserving a feeling of serenity and simplicity. The main living area has a large flat screen TV with surround sound, a gas-burning fireplace, wood floors accented by gorgeous rugs, and modern comfortable furniture. The kitchen is well equipped for even the most discerning chef. The master bedroom of this condominium is quite spacious and has a king size bed. The second bedroom features a queen bed and there is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The 130 sq ft deck has views to the east of Steamboat Ski Area and looks over Lincoln Avenue making it a great place to watch Winter Carnival events.

We totally enjoyed staying at the lovely condo and the having a place to put our car was a wonderful plus when staying downtown. Accessablility within walking distance to so much made our stay very enjoyable. The one thing I would suggest for that particular condo was some kind of covering on the window above the door to the juliet balcony in one bedroom. The light in the am was a hinderence to our sleeping in and we had to improvise a cover for it on the subseguent nights.

Service provided in making the reservation and on day of check in was excellent. The property is beautiful, spacious, and clean. Kitchen is well equipped, and housekeeping was good. The downsides were that the noise from the street was a real problem, waking us (all 5 of us) at all hours. That is not the fault of the property, of course, but I would hesitate to stay there again for that reason. Two other smaller issues were that the Wifi signal was not very good, and the sofa bed was criticized by each of my three kids that slept on it. They took turns and all agreed that it was pretty bad, including my child that usually doesn't notice that sort of thing.

This place was beautiful and well appointed. Well stocked with towels, sheets, and everything needed in the kitchen. Very comfortable common room with kitchen, family room, and dining area. Location in town is very convenient to dining and shopping. My only feedback is that since it's located on the main street, I often heard trucks and plows passing by, and there was the late night crowd that occasionally got loud out on the sidewalk. Otherwise great!

Our family of four really enjoyed this unit on our ski trip to Steamboat. It is located in the heart of Steamboat at 7th and Lincoln. We could walk to great restaurants and shops, even to church on Easter. Although underground parking was provided, the rental car stayed parked on most days as it is easiest to take the SST bus to the ski area. The Gondola Ski Club amenity was handy-you can leave your ski equipment at the ski area. The unit was beautifully appointed in subtle western themes. The new surfaces, appliances, and furniture were all high-end.Housekeeping came every day, unusual for a weekly condo rental. They kept the unit in nice shape while we dashed off to ski.

My family was in town for Little League World Series Baseball Tournament. The whole team stayed in the Howelsen Place. Great location and beautiful condos. Very clean and roomy and well worth the price. Private parking prevented you for hunting for a parking place. Would highly recommend.
"Clean, modern and great location - felt like home!"

Our stay at the Howelsen Place was wonderful. Our unit was clean, modern and conviently located for our Triple Crown Tourney. Our unit was stocked with everything we needed for our week stay. We were able to cook any meal we might want in the unit. We even baked a cake! And for the times I didn't want to cook we had several great choices to eat all in walking distance!

We enjoyed our time in Steam Boat. Our place was very convenient, nice and clean. Fun being on main street, but a little noisy(they do have noise machines in the bedrooms though). We would do it again.
