Howelsen Place is THE address of Old Town Steamboat. Located at the site of the famous Harbor Hotel at 7th and Lincoln, this property captures the historical significance of ski jumping by introducing a bronze statue of Carl Howelsen, the one time world record holder for ski jumping and prominent, turn of the century Steamboat Springs resident. Discover what the locals already know. Park your car, ride you bike or walk to where it's happening; restaurants, shops, movies, you name it. When you stay in the heart of downtown you have easy access to almost everything, and the free city ski shuttle can whisk you to the mountain during ski season.
The common area grill located in the courtyard of the Lincoln Building (Building B) is available to all guests staying at Howelsen Place.
Past and present are architecturally melded together to satisfy the desire for modern interiors while maintaining the spirit of western heritage. A streamlined look has been created for all the interiors at Howelsen Place. The goal was to combine metropolitan elements with traditional basics while remembering the nostalgia and history that surrounds the building. This becomes evident in the use of natural stone tile, warm woods and stainless steel accents. This transitional style is achieved by juxtaposing a warm atmosphere with the idea of an urban loft by using clean lines, geometric design, and a harmonious combination of color and pattern. Each finish was chosen to represent the essence of Steamboat. A mountain town full of history that embraces modern luxuries while preserving a feeling of serenity and simplicity. The main living area has a large flat screen TV with surround sound, a gas-burning fireplace, wood floors accented by gorgeous rugs, and modern comfortable furniture. The kitchen is well equipped for even the most discerning chef. The master bedroom of this condominium is quite spacious and has a king size bed. The second bedroom features a queen bed and there is a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The 143 sq ft deck looks over Lincoln Avenue and is a great place to watch Winter Carnival events.

I booked a 1 night stay for the 2 bedroom unit but only 1 bedroom was available. There was 1 room that was locked and apparently that was the 2nd bedroom. We arrived late & I did not have a phone# to call someone to come over to unlock. On 8/27 I called Liz at Pioneer Ridge to inform her & suggested that a partial refund was in order. She did not agree & said it was my fault because I did not call for assistance.

We did online booking. Received a phone call from Pioneer Ridge explaining check in process and parking. The place was far better than expected very beautiful, clean & has everything needed as comfortable as being home. The location was perfect walked to shops, restaurants,& waking trail. Enjoyed so much wished we had planned longer stay.
Great Condo and Staff, good location except night noise.

The condo was wonderful and the kitchen appliances and bathrooms were top notch. We loved the location as far as being able to walk everywhere, however, at night the street noise did keep us awake even with the sleep machine.

The location of Howelson is what makes this place so special. It is quite literally right in the middle of downtown Steamboat Springs, which is really a great place to be, especially in the summer. There are countless shops and restaurants within a short walk, along with the Yampa River. We had lunch at the Sweetwater Grill and watched the river go by...it was lovely. I had a parking spot assigned in the underground parking so I couldleave the convertible top down the whole time I was there. The condo had a nice clean contemporary decor to it and a balcony overlooking the main street, Lincoln avenue. Just a delightful stay!
