Conveniently situated directly across the street from the Steamboat Ski Area, The Phoenix at Steamboat offers beautifully furnished accommodations and easy walking to the Steamboat Gondola, Steamboat Snow School, Kids Vacation Center, and all base area shops and restaurants.
With vacation rentals ranging from spacious 4-bedroom condominiums to more intimate 2-bedroom units, The Phoenix has long been considered among the most ideal Steamboat lodging locations for families, ski groups, reunions and business retreats. In 2012, more than $4 million was spent on new windows and balcony doors, new stucco and siding, new garage doors, a new pool patio deck, and new lighting and signage. New materials, colors and textures were used to completely transform the property to reflect modern architectural styles. In addition to the striking new exterior, there have been several interior remodels as well.
Enjoy the outdoor heated pool and hot tubs after your daily Steamboat adventure. A gas fireplace in every condo further sets the tone for a relaxing evening after an exhilarating day of reveling in Steamboat's legendary powder.
The newly renovated clubhouse features a remodeled exercise facility and guest lounge with comfy seating and large flat-screen TV, as well as a community computer and printer with complimentary internet access. Mountain Resorts offers winter shuttle service for guests of The Phoenix to facilitate easy trips to the grocery store and downtown Steamboat Springs.
During summer, enjoy the easy stroll to the Steamboat Ski Area promenade and the refreshing Rocky Mountain stream that flows through the base area, where summer activities and events such as free concerts and art exhibits enhance Steamboat's splendid summertime surroundings.
This Two Bedroom, Three Bath condominium has a two level floor plan. There is seating for six at the large dining room table. The air conditioned living area features warm wood paneling and has a 50 inch wall mounted flat screen TV with a DVD player and stereo as well as a gas fireplace and a queen size sleeper sofa. Both bedrooms have a Queen size bed and an en-suite bath.

The two condos we rented and overall property were very nice and generally well maintained. I cannot say I'd recommend or return to any Mountain Resorts property due to the poor service we received during our stay. There were no linens to make up the day bed and we didn't realize this til the office was closed. Also, two of the toilettes did not work, which we also had to wait til the next day to get them serviced (since there were other bathrooms we didn't want to call after hours). My husband ended up fixing one of them, without any "thanks" from management. There was a thick layer of dust over every surface and the unit information books. The trash cans had only one bag and we were told to come to the office to get more. Really...with three children under three? Because we were leaving on a Monday and no one was coming in, we arranged a late checkout with the nice girl at the desk, even double checking Sunday eve. We received a call at 8 am Monday morning to tell us housekeeping said we couldn't check out late. This gave us 2 hours to get 13 people fed, cleaned and packed while leaving the condo in decent order. Most people were still waking up since we thought we had til noon. I found out later Monday eve that housekeeping hadn't even been in the room yet to clean.
I called Monday eve to ask why there was a charge on our credit card for the security deposits. This is when I found out housekeeping hadn't been in. She told me it was a hold until the room was cleaned and inspected. It took about10 days and three calls to get this hold off the card. I left a voicemail for the manager asking to discuss all these issues and have never received a call back.

This condo had a garage beneath it from which we were able to enter the condo--very convenient. Was also on a main road serviced by a free bus, and just a short walk down the hill to a great Mexican restaurant and small grocery/deli/wine store open until well into the evening. Also a ski rental shop. Very convenient. The kitchen was well equipped, the windows in the living room/kitchen looked to the east so were very nice in the morning, there was a gas fireplace for warmth--a very comfortable place to stay. Private bathrooms for the bedrooms (which were downstairs) and another upstairs. Would certainly recommend. The bedrooms could be a bit chilly because the baseboard heat didn't seem to work consistently--but there were plenty of comforters, blankets, etc. Not a big issue.
Thank you for your review! We're so pleaed you were happy with your condo. I'm sorry you experienced an issue with the heat, but very glad you were kept warm with plenty of blankets. I love La Montana too, it's a great restaurant. We hope to see you again soon!
