Why stay in a hotel when you can stay at the Rockies Condominiums? The Rockies, at the base of the Steamboat Ski Area, has a reputation in Steamboat Springs not only as a familiar landmark for family vacations, but as the best lodging value in all the Yampa Valley. Featuring studio loft, one bedroom, two bedroom, and two bedroom plus loft condominiums, the Rockies offers a unit configuration to suit your needs. You can't beat the value of the Rockies located near the base of the Steamboat Ski area across the street from the Steamboat Grand Hotel. Our studio rates are comparable to hotels that are located further away from the slopes, but you have the luxury of a living room, balcony and kitchen. We have the complimentary SST City Bus stop at the property. The Steamboat Springs Transit loops around the Rockies and makes various stops at the Mountain area on its route back to the Gondola Transit Center. A Mountain Resorts shuttle is also on call in mid-day (11am-2pm) and again during evening hours (6pm-10:30pm) for trips downtown or to the grocery store (shuttle service is only available during winter months). International Travelers love the self-catering apartments with fully equipped kitchens plus all the linens and towels that make them feel right at home without being in a cramped hotel room. The Rockies Condominiums are within walking distance to Ski Time Square, the indoor year-round Tennis Center and the Strings Music Festival pavilion in the summer.
This entry level Two Bedroom condominium has a mountain view. The well equipped kitchen features new cabinets, granite counter tops and a flat cook top stove. There is seating for six at the dining room table and an additional two at the kitchen counter. The living area has wood flooring, a 40 inch flat screen TV with a DVD player, a ceiling fan and an AirDream technology queen size sleeper sofa. The master bedroom has a flat screen TV with a DVD player, a queen size bed and a ceiling fan. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and a ceiling fan. The bathrooms have been newly remodeled with granite counters, tile surround showers with glass doors and heated tile floors. One of the bathrooms is equipped with an European style washer-dryer combination unit.

“Clean and Comfortable and Good Location. Wish the night line bus”
Left on 02/13/2014 for a stay in February 2014 | ErikaReviewed Feb 13, 2014Stayed Feb 2014
Been to Steamboat several times but this was my first stay at The Rockies. I was worried "The Rockies" was an older complex and the unit may be small. I was happily surprised, there was plenty of space! It was quite comfortable.
The Rockies is on the purple bus line of SST, which means the night line does not stop there. Be prepared to walk a little ways (~5blks) if you stay out later than the shuttle. Not a problem in the summer, a bit more daunting in winter with icy roads lined by deep snow banks (no sidewalks). A transfer is also needed if heading downtown by bus but that is easily done at Gondola Square.
Heated outdoor pool and Hot Tub were nice. No Sauna.
“Terrible unit but Mountain Resorts took care of us and helped us”

Honestly a terrible unit that is only suited for a groups of buddies who want to drink and party all weekend. Not a place suitable for a family. Dirty, old filthy shag carpet and the list is too long to complete. Mtn Resorts found us another place and discounted it so that our family of 7 could have a clean and more affordable place to stay. This unit should probably be taken off the list. Thank you Mtn Resorts for taking care of us!

Lovely 2 BR condo on first floor, nicely updated with lots of room, perfect for our two teen boys. Within walking distance from ski base, nice walk in the summer. The pool was nice too. We would rent this unit again in the summer! Prefer to be ski-in/out for the winter.

Very nice place! Check in was terrible! Took 90 minutes to finally get into the place. When you check in at 9PM and the documents aren't there after I called ahead to let Mountain Resorts know when I was going to be there, I thought that was very poor.

This condo is really nice. Sofa was a little hard, but there was every item that you would expect to find in a home away from home. Love the upgraded surfaces, plenty of room, everything in the unit worked great and the water was always hot! The housekeeping services were great too, plenty of towels and they came and emptied the trash every other day so we didn't even have to look for the dumpster. Will definitely go back. We love skiing in Steamboat!

We stayed in this unit for three nights in Feb 2013 and found it to be a great find. It was clean, well equipped and very convenient to the slopes and town. I will stay in it again next time we go to Steamboat. I highly recommend it.
