We decided on a spring skiing trip and were fortunate to find 104 available for our stay. Comfy and clean with a great view! Most important we were able to bring our 13 yr old golden retriever with us. While she had some challenges with the steps, overall a great getaway. Would definitely stay here again . Staff at Pioneer Ridge very friendly and helpful.

This was our third stay at Scandinavian Lodge. Previously we stayed in SL 204 but chose to try SL 104 since the two previous times the heat in unit SL 204 was too much. We found this to also be the case in SL 104, so we turned the heat off and opened the door. Sl 104 had some problems which management quickly addressed. Sl 104 had fewer cooking utensils than SL 204 which was important to us since we cooked our morning and evening meals there. Also, there needs to be some hooks to hang coats, etc. to air or dry. Every time we have visited we have had to call to get help with the television.
We used the hot tub nightly. Really appreciate the shuttle service! The drivers are on time and friendly.
The view from the balcony is great.
Our return flight was cancelled due to weather and we inquired about staying an extra night, and we were told it was available and we would be charged the same rate as we paid. As it turned out, we did not need the extra night, but I noticed on an invoice that we would have been charged $146/night instead of $111 as we were told. Although I was not charged, I was surprised to see this, considering I am a return visitor.
My husband and I love Steamboat - everyone is friendly and we look forward to returning next year - maybe bring our dog next time.

We picked this place because it was near the Thunderhead Express lift rather than the base - its nice to get away from the busy parts of a resort.
The room we stayed in was essentially a nice sized hotel room with a full sized kitchen. Nothing extremely special but it met our needs.
There are a few things lacking in the condo - hooks for your jackets/gear and a door mat for wet boots/shoes. It sounds so simple but was extremely frustrating. Luckily it was just two of us so we were able to use the kitchen table/chairs for hanging all of our gear.
Also - nothing in the email says it but you need to go directly to the Pioneer Ridge office before heading to the actual condo. We had to call to get this information.

Pioneer Ridge did a fantastic job getting us lined up, and supported us through our stay, here at Scandinavian Lodge. It is nearly slopeside, with a short walk to a nearby lift, so it's fantastic for skiing in and out anytime of the day you want. The hot tub is great, and the social room is an added benefit. There is also a BBQ grill, which I'll make note to use next time.

Overall I would rate our experience as great. We booked our room a few weeks in advance and when placing the reservation I told them we would like to check in around 11 if possible. The day of our arrival I called 3 hours before hand just to check we could still get early check in and was told the room was ready they would be expecting is. When we got there the room was not ready and we we're told they never had a time for when we would be showing up. The room was nice but there the first day the toilet was broken and did not flush, we found out the 2nd day that the shower was broken as well. On the website it said there was a shuttle, which we planned to utilize since the place is about a 10minute drive from downtown, but since we weren't there during peak season it didn't run which we were never told about on advance. Overall staff was nice but more negative things for our trip than positive.

This was a good unit - located well up the mountain, clean, nicely equipped, divided bathroom (door to close off toilet & shower area), nice tile on patio. It could use some hanging hooks in the bathroom & a towel bar in the sink area and some seating on the patio balcony, and the leather couch was a bit scratched/worn. The hairdryer didn't work during our stay, we reported this on the survey card and will hopefully be addressed.
Something to be mindful of is that the unit faces west and doesn't have air conditioning (most in Steamboat Springs don't), so the unit can heat up pretty dramatically in the afternoons - this is especially impactful during the summer. We ended up sleeping with the sliding door open all night (in approx upper 40s/lower 50s temps outside) with the provided fans running (plug-in style, not ceiling fans) and the room was probably in the mid-70s on waking.
The unit overlooks the pool, which is another item to keep in mind during summertime if you like to sleep late!
There is no elevator and stairs must be used to access this unit, something to keep in mind if not traveling lightly.
We arrived after hours and the check-in process was somewhat unclear for this, and we couldn't get cell signal at the main office area. We ended up driving to a nearby gas station just before they closed, were erroneously informed that at&T; didn't have a tower in Steamboat (!), used their phone to call the main office #, got the recording with the security service's # to call for after hours check-in and then called them to arrange things. Not a good intro to the property or area, but had a good experience afterward, and were delighted to have full cell signal for the rest of the week! (Apparently the at&T; signal has been a known issue, we met another unit owner who had at&T; and Ided a spot that you can stand to get signal ... sometimes! But as I said, we had full signal wherever we went for the balance of the stay.)

The unit has no air conditioning and no windows making it unbearable. It has one patio door but is located one floor up on the pool side. So, you can't open the patio door at night because everyone at the pool can look into your unit. So, it becomes like a sweat box in there because the air doesn't circulate.
The unit is probably good during the the winter. The TV worked great and bed was comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen appliances are dated.
