From the beautiful stone patio with its bubbling waterfall, firepit and 8-person hot tub, to sweeping views of the Columbia Gorge, to the luxuriously-appointed beds, every one of your senses will be pampered. Casual yet sophisticated, this home's four bedrooms and 3 baths make it a great choice for a family, multiple couples or corporate groups.
The king-size bed in the King Bedroom faces a large window with a view across the Gorge, while the Skylight Queen Bedroom has its own full bath. The Little Queen Bedroom shares a 3/4 bath with the King. Two sofabeds (queen and twin), a daybed and a twin-over-full bunk round out the sleeping accommodations.
A very well-appointed kitchen with full-size, stainless appliances makes meal prep a breeze. In the nearby town of Stevenson you'll find fresh, local produce, meats, a wide array of superb Washington wines and local brews, and just-caught, cut to order fish to bring back for the grill!
But if you'd rather not cook, there are great local restaurants a short drive away. Stevenson is tiny, but packed with shops and services to meet nearly any need, and you'll find a bookstore, a wine bar and a terrific brew pub (Walking Man) that's definitely worth a stop. Regardless, you'll want to hurry back for a toast to the day as the Gorge turns crimson in the sunset.
The location provides easy, year-round access to hiking, boating, fishing, skiing and more, yet the setting itself is secluded and free from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Surrounded by national and state parks, wildlife reserves and the magnificent Columbia River, with its world-class windsurfing and kiteboarding, you'll still be less than twenty minutes from charming Stevenson, and about 12 minutes from the iconic Bridge of the Gods.
You will find all sorts of up-to-date guide books and hiking maps, but you'll be tempted to stay put in the Greatroom, with its stone fireplace, a 52-inch plasma TV with satellite cable and streaming Blu-ray, thanks to the reliable, high-speed internet. You'll also find a cool little internet radio in the Sunroom, near the telescope and ping-pong table. iPhone and Android docks will keep all your gadgets charged, too.
Babies and children welcome! You'll find a crib, booster seats, Pack-n-Play and age-appropriate toys and games.

We came here in early November for a work retreat. While we probably picked the dreariest week of the year, the home was perfect, and we had a great time. There's plenty of room to spread out, and when the clouds parted, a beautiful view was revealed. We'll be back!

We arrived at 5.30pm to the cleaners still working (not done until about 8pm), and the bunk-bed room wasn't available as my family expected, also the next day we had plumbing issues, but the local manager was friendly and communicative to try to solve the issues. I was offered a night's refund for our troubles which I accepted, however the amount offered by the property manager was different (less) to what was paid, or listed as a nightly rent by Vacasa.
Apparently my booking for 8 was meant to include using the fold out sofa in the living room instead of the bunkbed room which was described as being available on the webpage. So be sure to confirm what you are paying for before you book. Especially if you have anyone that you plan to sleep separately as the only options left were either queen or king to share.
Otherwise it is a wonderful get-away-from-it-all-and-breathe-in-the-beautiful-Cascade-Gorge location. Private and serene, yet accessible. (Though check on the map for the roads, as cell reception was sketchy, and my gps got lost going in the east side.)
It is an odd patch-work of a house, but has spaces well assigned for different purposes and great amenities.
Most enjoyed watching the sunset across the gorge and an occasional visit from deer in the backyard looking right at home.
Kids went straight to the toys and enjoyed the table tennis, and floating toys in the bucket in the small pond. They loved toasting marshmallows at the firepit too.
Great to have such extra little things as laundry detergent, coffee beans, local visitors information handy, tool kit, first aid kit.
We could have easily stayed for longer. Please add to your check in email local places to buy food/gas to make it easier to come prepared, and a map of the roads to the house from the highway.
When you sleep in the King bed room keep your curtains open you will wake to a spectacular view!
And be sure to take some time to relax in the hammock and listen to the waterfall. We'd love to return.
