Ocean View Cottage-Sleep with Sounds of the Waves

Newly set up as a vacation home, this one bedroom hillside cottage (2 blocks from the ocean) has an ocean view deck, BBQ, patio furniture, umbrella, and chaise lounges.

This classic home, built in 1923, has original redwood floors, open beam rooms and a classic 20's feel. It has been moderately remodeled, repainted, and includes a gas fireplace with fan, a newer stove and refrigerator, a fully stocked kitchen with a microwave and programmable coffeemaker, coffee grinder, blender, etc., an old, classic farmhouse drop leaf table and chairs, a down-filled couch, leather reading chair/ottoman and up/down window shades so you can sit and watch the ...Read more

Additional Location Information

The cottage is one of the "Hillside Cabins" built in the 1920's and up the hill from the stop sign.. It is 2 blocks from the Ocean and beautiful, walkable Stinson Beach, I 1/2 blocks from the store, 1 block from the community center and church and up to 2 blocks from all restaurants and shopping. Being that close to everything, one would think it wouldn't be private but the cottage is hidden away while you have a panoramic view.
Parking is on the street (parking deck is being replaced) but is very easy on weekdays. During weekends with good weather, it'd also manageable if you get there by noon or don't return until after 4 PM.
There is a bus, the West Marin Stagecoach (Golden Gate Transit), that goes to Bolinas and beyond and also back to Mill Valley. If you like to hike, it has many stops along the way at trailheads, several of which end in Stinson, so you don't need to drive. Take it back to Mountain Home Inn or over to Bolinas for lunch!
For birders, Bolinas Lagoon is a bird reserve and has plentiful species.
If you're bringing a small child, bring their favorite DVD's, as needed. I have over 20 that are mostly for grown people.
