“Tranquil Rural Idyll”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2021

Georgie & Francis gave us a splendid welcome to their well located and quiet converted barn. It was well equipped and really clean with access to walks across fields and woods. We would highly recommend it for all these reasons and the brilliant location between Stow and Moreton. Francis gave us brilliant suggestions of where to visit nearby and they add value to an already quality proposition!

Response from the owner We enjoyed having Emma and her family to stay. The dog was well behaved, and enjoyed all the walks we have to offer around the farm. The February weather was fantastic last weekend. Heath Barn they said was also convenient for taking their son out from Warwick University that is just over half an hour away. I think they enjoyed being in another part of the country too.

Response from the owner We are absolutely mortified by this review. Unfortunately, on this occasion, we were away for the day so therefore unable to supervise the changeover. We had however made the guests aware that we would be absent, and not getting back until fairly late. Our son was holding the fort and endeavoured to rectify the situation. Despite his best efforts, the guests booked alternative accommodation within 2 hours, and left. We offered the guests a full refund which they accepted. We are utterly appalled and mortally embarrassed that they had to suffer such a stressful situation. We have taken all of their constructive comments and observations on board and are acting upon them. We will insure that our cleaners always undergo a thorough deep clean on each changeover which, on this occasion and in our absence, they clearly failed to do. Please accept our humble apologies for a situation which simply should not have been permitted to happen.

Response from the owner Thank you for your nice review. The Master-en-suite fan is now mended. The tap has been sorted, caused through over tightening which then damages the seals, that have to then be replaced. We hope you come back and visit Heath Barn again one day to see more of the area as there is so much to see and do.

Response from the owner Thank you so much Anne and Chris, for your nice comments. It was very nice having you back again to Heath Barn, and meeting your family and friends too. A shame about the weather, but there are so many nice places round here that are in doors to make up for it, that you visited. It was very kind of you to give us a special selection of Belgian beers. They went down really well!! We really look forward to another of your visits soon. With best wishes Francis and Georgie Mander

Response from the owner Thank you for your useful comments. We are planning to carry out some new painting of the Barn especially with the main doors and we will also keep a beady eye on our cleaners who sometimes, if not being monitored, forget certain areas such as high up cobwebs, it being a very large barn. A deep clean will be carried out too. We will now increase the numbers of mugs as we have plenty of nice ones in our store room. We hope that you will recommend your friends and visit us again one day.

“Lovely Barn”

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your comments and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We will now monitor the team of cleaners and make sure that a big effort is made in the kitchen, especially oven areas. All the instructions for the appliances are in a kitchen drawer and we will now try to place these into a special file that is easy to locate, and place on a side table in the kitchen may be the answer here. There are plenty of plates and crockery, that may have been difficult to find, we now need to brief guests on all their locations. We will check what needs to be increased too and replace the iron and stand. On the second bedroom, there is an indelible stain I understand on the bedcover, and we will get this professionally spring cleaned after the present guests leave. If that does not shift these marks we will replace it. We do have lots of anti insect strips, that now it is Springtime, will be placed in key areas to help keep these bugs at bay. Thank you for advising us of the snags that we will now make a big effort to illuminate so as to keep the high standards up in this special barn in the heart of the Cotswolds. We hope you come back one day and visit us again and tell your friends.
