Guest Reviews: "Great House, Great Location - My wife and I and our 4 kids (ages 2-14) had a great time at Hoodoo 8. The location with the park essentially being right in your backyard was perfect for my kids. The layout of the house is extremely comfortable and the leather couch and chair were cozy enough to sleep on. The fireplace in the main room cranks out the heat, would be awesome in the winter months. Can't say enough good things, will definitely be back!" - Brandon
"We have stayed in Sunriver for a number of years... this year was the best. Hoodoo 8 is a wonderful home with lots of space, a great layout, and it has been beautifully kept up by the owners. We had two boys who loved going out the back door and right into Fort Rock Park and four adults who loved going out onto the back deck and into the hot tub. Travel to Mt. Bachelor is short, so we enjoyed skiing, tubing and a dog sled ride in superb snow conditions... If our group does not get larger next year, we will definitely rent Hoodoo 8 again..." - Kahuna

My wife, family, and small group of friends gather every year for New Years and spend a long weekend in Sunriver and have stayed at 8 Hoodoo for 5 years now and have never once been disappointed!
The house is very well cared for and maintained and is always clean and comfortable! It is by far the most well stocked vacation rental we have ever found. After our first year in the home we left a comment saying a larger fry pan would be nice and the next year when we arrived we found a nice big fry pan waiting for us!
The home shows pride in ownership and and a high level of detail in cleaning and maintaining the home.
See you next year 8 Hoodoo lane!

We liked being close to the park for our grandsons. There were a few problems. The TVs are old and need updating. The deck needs new paint or stain. The oven was not working well. The master bedroom could use a ceiling fan. The windows could use locks, when they are open a little ways. Thankyou, Tena
“Some maintenance and updates would make this a great house”

Kitchen - microwave oven stinks and should be replaced.
Knives are very dull and the sharpener is worn to the point of uselessness
Dishwasher is old and the silverware basket is broken
Kitchen was well stocked, even had a rib rack for the BBQ. However some non-ziplock food storage containers would have been nice.
The inviting fake fruit when you walk in has random bites taken from most pieces.
Closet by kitchen smells awful
Leather furniture comfortable and nice
TV is old and should be replaced with HD
Could not find linen for the futon. There was nothing on the shelf labeled futon bedding in the closet.
Games are provided, however, many had missing pieces and could not be played.
The house comes with four adult bikes and helmets, tennis rackets, a basketball hoop and ball, which was nice.
Patio furniture was nice, but only seated four for a meal.
Decks need to be painted/stained and are not safe for small children.
One of the dining room chairs is broken.
Master bedroom - needs a ceiling fan, there is no cross ventilation. It was very hot in the MB, several degrees hotter than right outside the bedroom door. Also there are a couple bubbles in the ceiling, not sure if that means the roof leaks?
Huge ants in master bedroom and bathroom. Even found some in bed with us.
The cable box and lamp in the twin bedroom were both on the same light switch. So, we couldn't use the switch to turn off the light and watch tv. We couldn't seem to remedy the problem.
The washer had mold/mildew and smelled. The florescent light in the laundry room just flickered.
There is no aC and many high windows and sky lights without shades and we couldn't keep the hot sun completely out. They provide hints how to keep the house cool; t was still in the 80-90's indoors. It cooled off to 75 by morning.
Watching the deer from the deck was pretty cool too.
We had a nice vacation, just wish it hadn't been so hot... indoors. Had nice things to say but limited by character count

We reserved 7 & 8 Hoodoo for our daughter's high school graduation party. We had family coming from out of state and having both houses next door to each other was a great convenience. The added benefit of Ft Rock Park being our backyard was a plus. Our family visiting from California & Florida was amazed at all the activities available in Sunriver. The bonus of having access to the pools and exercise facilities at the Sharc and Mavericks was impressive.
The houses were spacious, clean and had all the appliances we could want. We are already starting to plan booking these two houses for our next family reunion.

We had a wonderful few days at Sunriver. 8 Hoodoo was a wonderful house with every thing we needed. It was very well decorated and very comfortable. We loved the living area and kitchen. We cooked each night and found the kitchen easy to use and with plenty of dishes and pans.
We enjoyed having the park right behind us for our 2 year old granddaughter. We built snowmen every where! It was a beautiful winter wonderland.
Mavericks was great and we used the pool and workout rooms daily. We hope to get the opportunity to come again in the summer.

We have stayed in Sunriver for a number of years over the Christmas holiday and this year was the best. Hoodoo 8 is a wonderful home with lots of space, a great layout, and it has been beautifully kept up by the owners. We had two boys who loved going out the back door and right into Fort Rock Park and four adults who loved going out onto the back deck and into the hot tub. Travel to Mt. Bachelor is short, so we enjoyed skiing, tubing and a dog sled ride in superb snow conditions.
We had a little trouble figuring out the heat recovery system on the fireplace, which kept the living area warm, but then the thermostat would not call for heat and the bedrooms would get cold. but after a day or two we figured out how to balance that.
If our group does not get larger next year, we will definitely rent Hoodoo 8 again if it is available.
