The house is a magical 1880s Nantucket-style home that serves as a B&B; - unless you reserve the entire property for the week. This listing offers you that opportunity.
Your host lives immediately next door in the converted garage and is available if and when needed, but stays invisible otherwise. This property sleeps 2 in each of three guest rooms; an additional room on ground floor by the kitchen has a single daybed and 3 piece bath which sleeps one (total: 7 guests maximum). The price includes delicious, well-presented breakfasts for up to 7 people, daily light housekeeping, and evening wine / canapes when requested. Guests use of the kitchen and laundry is included.
The house has a view of Suttons Bay (Lake Michigan) which is immediately across the highway - you can jump on the TART bike and walking trail there, launch a boat, or picnic under the large shelter with clean baths. This park is manicured and maintained by the village. The sandy swimming beach is a three minute peaceful bayside stroll along the TART trail.
A massive natural 20' waterfall is a beauty in the back yard.. The back yard is very private with a wildflower meadow and white garden lounge chairs. This area is bordered by wilderness so neighbors homes are not visible.
There are 4 bathrooms - the listing says 7 because FB adds en suit baths with hall baths for some reason.
The front yard is a vast patio with a filigree bar / 4 bar chairs, a a bistro table with 2 chairs.
You can walk to the village's popular cafes and upscale boutiques. Ice cream, fudge, galleries and theater are all walkable destinations. The village is 20 minutes from Traverse City along the shoreline. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park (voted Most Beautiful Place in America" by viewers of Good Morning America) is just up the road! Leelanau Sands Casino with gaming and shows is 3 miles north. There are over 30 wineries and a distillery close by, all with charming tasting rooms and extensive samplings. This region is the official Cherry Capital of the World, so fruit stands proliferate and the scenery is breathtaking. It also receives national recognition as a "Foodie" Region so restaurants and bistros seldom disappoint!
The house is charmingly decorated with original art and collectibles. One guest said, "in many ways it reminded us of France," because if its memorable quaintness!
One guestroom can be entered by a spiral staircase from the deck below as has an en-suite bath so you come and go without going through the house. Or an adjoining door can be used leading the residents into the house directly through a bathroom.
Wi-Fi and cable TV (premium channels) is provided in each guest room. The Leelanau Trailhead for bicyclists is right across the road by the boat launch; you can take a tour on a Tall Ship from an education center in the village - or rent a pontoon boat just up the road a bit. Bicycles and kayaks are for rent in the village. Leland's Fishtown (a visitor's delight consisting of historic, ramshackle fish shanties and nets on old docks now gussied up into quaint boutiques) is a fifteen minute drive. While you are there try a Chubby Mary - a Bloody Mary with a Smoked Chub fish poking its head out of your glass....Read more

Additional Location Information
Best location ever if you like a lively resort scene. This is the gateway to wine country and tours (even bicycle wine tours). Lots of energy. Everything is within a stone's throw so once you park, if you choose to stay local, you may not want to even move your car. But there is so much to do in the area, you probably will be touring about a lot. This is a town of boutiques, not WalMarts, upscale cafes, not McDonalds. You'll love it here. Lake Michigan is across the highway, the sandy beach with playground is at Marina Park, 3 blocks away by the library. The TART bike trail is across the highway!
