Milkwood House is a luxurious and stylish new two bedroom apartment in the heart of the fashionable Meridian Quay quarter of Swansea Marina in Wales. Has recently achieved the top 5 star rating by Visit Wales and also been recognised as one of the most stylish and elite places to stay in the country by Wales in Style.
It's overlooking the sea, brand spanking new, located in Swansea's coolest new Quarter (in between the marina and the beach). Has one double and one twin bedroom, but can sleep 6 if you use the leather sofa bed in the living room. We have everything you expect - the usual trimmings in places like this: Egyptian cotton, this and that etc, but it also has some Welsh things too. Some of our cushions for instance, made from our sheep and spun in a mill called Melin Tregwynt.
We also have a very nice, large and very flat HD TV, PlayStation3, Sky Sports on HD, a Blue Ray Disc player and will even hire-in discs of your choice too if you want. We have an iPod docking speaker but your iPod is not included though. Fluffy towels, shiny sheets and duvets, cracking crockery (that doesn't crack), lovely leather beds, chairs, and an unusual corner sofa unit which is the fastest sofa in the world to change into a bed (seconds is the current record).
So why stay here? Stunning views of the sea on on side, and the Marina on the other; seconds from the beach, minutes from city centre, close to Mumbles and Gower, walking distance to 2 of the most popular visitor attractions in Wales and touching distance to one of the most scenic walking and cycling paths in Wales - "The Celtic Trail" along Swansea Bay to Mumbles. Oh yes, and you can borrow our bikes too - they're in the private underground car park underneath Milkwood House!
'The Quiet time' - You know when. Not the UK Summer holidays, not the Summer months or half terms, Christmas nor Easter. Good time for those without children really or those on business too. Hire it all week and bring the family down for the weekend if you like. Just a thought.
'The not-so-busy-time' - So, if you dont fancy the really busy time, and cant come when it's quiet, why not go for something in between. Fancy Easter, one of the half terms or early Summer? June and early July is usually nice in this part of the world so why not?
'The busy-busy time' - Now we're talking. Busy lives need a busy-time holiday but you'll need to get your booking in cos there's lots of you asking. Last 2 weeks in July and the whole of August when the sun shines. Well, put it this way, in theory it shines....Read more

The apartment was fabulous. It is well maintained, well equipped and in a perfect location to access the beach as well as the city center. The owner was attentive to all requests and followed up during our stay to ensure that we were happy.
As a renter from the us the car parking did take a little getting used to but no different to any other underground car parks in the UK. Don't rent a big car. I will be recommending this rental to all friends and family considering a trip to the UK.

A very comfortable modern apartment. Clean, very spacious and well decorated. Excellent situation right on the front, yards from the huge sandy beach with the marina behind. Parking in the basement was tight but do-able and another bathroom would have been good but not really detrimental.

We stayed in this lovely flat earlier this year and we found it fab. For us it was a retreat for me, my mum, and her mum, and each
generation loved the place. It had all the utensils needed to cook each evening, and it also had a great view to the sea and all the mod cons needed for a comfy stay. This flat is a great Swansea base.

Although this place was a little hard to find, it was well worth it. The location is very handy to everything, and the rooms were clean and modern. we could not have stayed in a nicer place or had better service. I cannot thank andrew enough for making our stay so special.

Travelling with small children & a baby we usually book a suite to have two seperate sleeping areas so are used to staying in nice hotels. Milkwood House was a fabulous alternative to staying in a hotel, offering even better facilities with the self catering cooking facilities and the state of the art entertainment system. We had everything we needed and andrew provided a travel cot for the baby, as well as locking the window in the childrens' room to make it more secure. The check in was hassle free and the instructions within the apartment were perfect, with lovely touches such as bottle of wine and chocs! The location is ideal for a stroll around the marina, a run on the beach or a saunter into the nearby shopping area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and fully intend to return when next in Wales. I would fully recommend this as a place to stay!

As an Olympian I have spent my life traveling both the UK and the rest of the world and rarely have I come across a rental property of such high standards. The accommodation had absolutely everything I needed and more.
It was great to see that the quality of the accommodation was equally matched by the outstanding customer service.
I cannot fault my time here in any way shape or form and would rate it excellent in every single area.
I would be happy to not only recommend this accommodation to anyone interested but would also guarantee they will not be disappointed.

Milkwood is a great apartment in an ideal location, close to the city attractions, next to the beach and within 15 minutes of great surfing beaches. We were torn between Swansea bay or a more traditional seaside town/village, this was definitely the right choice, my two boys 12 and 15 had a great time and loved the apartment, x-box etc. Andrew and his in-laws were really friendly and made us feel as though nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return at some point.

Stayed at Milkwood for 2 nights for our son Darrens graduation at Swansea University. Apartment had everything and all tastfully done, quiet and a lovely view of the sea. Andrew was very welcoming and had thought of everything. The information book is good for people who don't know the area and the bikes too. Will book again when visiting Swansea or the Gower.

We loved everything about Milkwood House, from the moment we met andrew we felt very relaxed and comfortable. The apartment is lovely with gorgeous views, its very spacious and has everything you need and more. We were made to feel very at home and even asked family to come over for a birthday tea party and a walk on the beach. We had a few drinks in town and watched Hurt Locker on Blu Ray on the PS3, it was the perfect weekend and I would recommend Milkwood House to everyone.

We recently stayed at Milkwood for 2 and a half
months (yes, you read that right!!) after we had a
leak in our house and had to move out. Wasn't
looking forward to moving out with 2 kids but
Milkwood is literally a home from home so made this
time a lot more comfortable and enjoyable than if
we'd ended up in a hotel.
The location is absolutely fantastic, right on the
promenade on Swansea bay, and only a few minutes
walk into town. Even the train station is only a
20 minute walk away. Recently a new shop opened
literally 2 mins walk away and there's plans for a
new bar to be opened next to it within the next few
2 bikes are provided free of charge for use which I
did make a lot of use of, even during the snow and
ice back in January! As the apartment is on the
promenade you don't even need to go near the road
to get onto a major cycle route (route 4). One way
heads towards Mumbles which is a really nice ride,
the other way heads towards Aberavon beach near
Port Talbot. If you're more adventurous then you
can even cycle over to Llanelli and the Millennium
Coastal park, approx 15 - 20 mile ride.
The facilities in the apartment are fantastic,
especially the Sky HD and the Bose iPod dock...
The beds are very comfortable, even more
comfortable than my own actually (may have to buy
one of those!). Other family members stayed over
now and then, and it was very easy to accommodate
them on the living room sofa which easily converts
into a bed.
Even though I live only a few miles away I would
love to go back to Milkwood, I thoroughly enjoyed
my stay, even though I did still have to go to work
during the time I was there :-(

What a beautiful flat. Great location by the sea and the marina, balcony with great views, close to town and with all the stylish mod cons you could need on a break - including an ipod docker and a blu ray player. Even inspired me to copy the matching toaster and kettle when I finally decorate my own kitchen back home! Had the use of two mountain bikes, courtesy of the apartment, so a lovely waterside cycle to Mumbles and back was followed by a few drinks and a meal on the balcony. A great week! I heartily recommend Milkwood House.

We had a fantastic weekend at Milkwood House, The
apartment is equipped with everything you need and is
in a superb location with a great sea view and is
only a short walk from the city centre.
There are some beautiful bays located just east of
Swansea and access to the area is so easy via. the M4
We Will definitely use it again and can highly recommend it

The owner of the appartment warmly greeted us personally, with detailed explanations for using the apartment, together with the surrounding area. Accomodation was extremely spacious, whilst being fully equipped and contemporarily furnished to a high standard.
Having grown up in the area we didn't need any information on the surrounding areas etc, but the owner provided a basket full of attraction leaflets telling holiday-makers what was where. Being ex-pats, we are bound to be biased on the location. It is wonderful to see how Swansea is being transformed into a 21st Century tourist attraction - without the 'kiss-me-quick hat' look! The surrounding bays are (busy but) beautiful and one cannot omit a mention of 2 superb ice-cream parlours. The legendery Joes (in St.Helens and Oystermouth) and the more recent seafront addition - Verdi's.
We were unable to take advantage of the vast genre of restaurants to be found along the whole of the seafront, but instead used the apartments copy of Yellow Pages to source local take-aways(!) when we didn't want to cook.
They say first impressions last and this is very true. Our first visit to Milkwood House was only for few nights; we loved it so much that we have just booked to go back August 2010 for the full 7 nights!

If you want a get away from it all, but close to it all, with a wonderful view, then Milkwood House is the place for you. We enjoyed a few days in total luxury this accomodation has all you need for an away from home break with all the comforts of being at home. And best of all was the milk in the fridge and the Tea and cofffee ready for that vital refreshment after a long journey. We liked the secure parking that goes with the apartment and being able to visit the beach and town centre without having to worry where to park or having enough change for the parking metre. What I liked least about Milkwood was that I had to go home.... A 5* place I would love to visit again.

We stayed at Milkwood house for a long weekend break in May. We were exceptionally impressed by the standard of accommodation, and have booked to go back!
The standard of the decor, kitchen and bathroom was very high- we loved the stylish contemporary feel! It also overlooks the ocean and is perfect for relaxing.
It's close enough to lots of attractions, shops and restaurants to find more than enough to do. But it's also quiet enough to do nothing but stay in -nothing being what we did most of! There were plenty of gadgets to keep us occupied with films, music etc. We also loved the Gower, which is very handy to Milkwood House.
I wouldn't hesitate to recomment Milkwood to anyone if you're looking for somewhere luxurious in South Wales!

This apartment is perfect for anyone looking for a home away from home in
Swansea. It is spotlessly clean and well run. The decoration and general look is
contemporary. Views of the water are an added bonus. The Marina
neighborhood is an excellent base for exploring the shore and the Dylan
Thomas Center. There are a number of good restaurants within walking
distance and a Tesco supermarket close by. I will definitely be making a return
visit should I need to stay in this area again.
