Additional Location Information

Far away in the upstate New York countryside, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of everyday worldly affairs, lies a very special paradise. Welcome to Wellnesste Lodge... we offer four cozy cabins and rustic tent campsites located on nearly 60 private acres in the Tug Hill Region of Central New York.

Wellnesste (pronounced wellness-stay) literally means Wellness onto you. Our private estate is known as a place where humans & nature coexist in harmony. Hidden in a scenic valley formed by glacial rivers, the property has over a half a mile of frontage on the East Branch of Fish Creek- voted one of New Yorks most scenic rivers. Wellnesste Lodge is close to Sylvan Beach/ Oneida Lake, the Adirondacks, Syracuse, Cooperstown, Lake Ontario and the Salmon River so day trip adventures abound.

Originally part of the vast Northeastern forests where Native Americans roamed, the property was established as a hunting camp and gathering spot for family and friends in the early 1900s, the secluded riverfront property became a local trading post of sorts. Neighbors and friends would gather to exchange warm homemade apple pies, golden sweet clover honey, wild berries, smoked brook trout, homemade cheese, venison jerky, hand-carved wooden toys and local treasures like Garnets, Herkimer diamonds and fossils.

Over a century has passed and the outside world has changed dramatically, but one thing remains true here at Wellnesste Lodge you can still enjoy the little things in life such as a quiet snowshoe hike in the woods, the peaceful melody of songbirds, a cold glass of lemonade on a lazy summer afternoon and gatherings down at the swimming hole, just like days of old.

So sit back in your rocking chair and fetch yourself a drink. Grab a cookie for dunking and browse our website to learn more about us while you plan a peaceful getaway to rejuvenate your spirit. We invite you to visit and stay awhile where it's quiet, calming & energizing to the soul.
