“Charme and style next to York Minster!” Out of five stars I would readily give five and a half to this fantastic place where we (my auntie and I) have spent a couple of wonderful days! We immediately felt at home... I particularly liked the stylish look with its charming mix of antique and modern elements, well chosen, original decoration and those warm and appeasing pastel colours... and the kitchen is almost better equipped than my own back home in France! The beds are so comfortable, we just slept heavenly well in them... but that's not all: the location is simply perfect - very quiet, yet in the very heart of the city - the Minster, the Shambles, shops, museums, restaurants - everything is in walking distance... Speaking of restaurants: if I had to recommend two places, it would be the "Rustique" (28 Castelgate) - very nice French cuisine & friendly service - and for ice cream lovers "licc" (20 Back Swinegate) is a must! All in all a fantastic and unforgettable holiday experience, a big Merci, we'll definitely be back and recommend you to friends and family!

“Peacefull” very quiet down country lane very clean kitchen a bit on the small side but everything you need was their. Nice pub 5 mins walk but dark lane torch was supplied handy for york on the park and ride could not work the oven one day the owner from next door came straight away got it working

“Lovely cottage and gardens” Lovely cottage, gardens and orchard and and Paul could not have been nicer. His restoration of the property was excellent and great attention was paid to little details inside the cottage. There was more than enough matching cutlery and dishes and all that one would require. The location was quiet and sheltered and we enjoyed our stay. Anyone wishing to go to York would be wise to take advantage of the Park and Ride system. We liked the cottage and Paul best and no negative points except if one only wanted a drink or a pub meal one would need to use the car.

“Staying on the farm” Our hostess was really friendly and very helpful. Quiet location. Great base for visiting York and Leeds. Well appointed cottage and warm even in November. Close to two villages and Tadcaster for eating out.

“Beautifully renovated interior” Very friendly and welcoming owners,found easily with Sat Nav not so easily with downloaded directions.Very spacious interior, ideal for more than one family. A little smelly from the cess pit. We were here to tour and it was perfect for that not so sure in the summer as right in the center of the farm and a lot of areas out of bounds, which is fair enough as it is a working farm, however if you had small children it could be a problem.Would certainly come back.

“Perfect for our family break to York!” Dear Mary & Philip, We stayed at your holiday appartment from Monday 9th to Friday 13th May 2011 with our two young children ages 2 & 4. I just wanted to say thank you for your very warm welcome and the little treats you both left for us to start our family break off like a dream. The scones and good old Yorkshire butter and jam went down a treat along with the chocolate bars for the children! The children were made to feel as welcome as we were which is a deffinate reason why we would come again. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. As for the location, it was perfect. Just as described!. Next time we won't need to bring as much food & drink with us as the supermarket is very handy (especailly when you realise you have left a bag of shopping behind, like I did, it only took me 5 minutes to get there and back into the appartment!). From the apartment, it was great to stoll into town. We never had to use the car, a taxi or a bus where we wanted to go. One instance we had a walk out to the Grand Opera House to watch a famous comedian and on the very last day I walked into town to dip my feet in to the fish spa near the Yorvic Viking Center which I would deffinatly recomend, along with the apartment, to any one! Thank you again, and we hope to see you both again on our next break to York. Helen & Peter

“A wonderful relaxing break” This was our second visit to this holiday apartment and the experience couldn't have been better. From the warm welcome when Mary and Philip helped us unload the car, to the spotlessly clean well equipped rooms it really was a great chance to reload the batteries. Despite the fantastic location, so close to all of York's brilliant attractions, it is a really peaceful location. Private secure parking at no additional charge is also a great bonus. Would thoroughly recommend for a perfect getaway.
