A Place In The Sun is a brand-new, ultra luxurious Mountain Village estate set in absolute seclusion and privacy. This 6 bedroom, 6 bathroom contemporary residence is just over 10,000 square feet and is nestled amongst 2.63 acres of old growth spruce and has ski-in/ski-out access to the Bridges ski run via a charming, private forest path. This home has multiple outdoor entertaining areas creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living spaces, and the natural environment. With exquisite details of Telluride Gold Stone, antique timbers, black galaxy granite and handcrafted wood work, A Place In The Sun is truly remarkable in every way.
Guests enter the home into a breathtaking great room framed by hand crafted wood work. A luxurious lounge area surrounds a 30 foot, floor to ceiling stone fireplace. On either side of the stone fireplace are 30 foot cathedral windows stretching up to lofty vaulted ceilings. These windows look over one of the outdoor entertaining areas, and across to the San Sophia mountain range to the north. To the left of the great room is a large, gourmet chef's kitchen featuring a Wolf 48” range with griddle, a Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer and a walk-in pantry. Adjoining the kitchen is a grand dining room that seats 8 guests and has a gas fireplace. A hallway leads guests from the kitchen and dining areas to an exercise room and a 3 car garage. Just off the exercise room is a hot tub on an exterior patio, overlooking the woods.
Leading away from the great room in the opposite direction of the kitchen is another hallway. Off this hallway to the right there is a private office if work calls on your Telluride vacation. The hallway continues into study with a cozy lounge and TV. Just beyond the study is a library breezeway. The library breezeway has a desk and more seating, and connects the main residence with the guest cottage.
On the top level of the main residence are 4 guest suites. There are 2 luxurious king master suites with private bathrooms and walk in closets. Both bathrooms have steam showers and jetted tubs. One of these guest masters is considered the “grand master suite” because it has a coffee bar and an oversized bathroom with marble detail. The 3rd guest suite has 2 queen beds and the 4th guest suite is a bunk room. The bunkroom has 2 sets of bunk beds with queen beds on the bottom and single beds on the top. There is also a king sized bed in this room. All 4 guest suites have a gas fireplace.
The self contained guest cottage has an additional 2 queen suites, each with a private bathroom (one bathroom has a shower only). One of these queen suites is open to the lounge area below. The guest cottage has its own lounge area with a TV and gas fireplace, and a full gourmet kitchen. The guest cottage also has it's own private deck with multiple seating areas.
The lower level of the home is a recreation and relaxation center. There is a home theater, a games room with a billiards table, a wet bar, a dine-in wine cellar, a powder room and a gallery hall. Other details include in floor radiant heat and gas forced air, Crestron A/V and lighting and 2 powder rooms. MVBL#01527

If you want Elegence with a capital E this is the place. Our family of 10 stayed here two years running. Once in 2013 and again in 2014. Much space. Magnificant interior design. The elevation is 10,000 ft and takes a couple of days to get use to as we are from Texas. One of features is the free shuttle from Mountain Village. Just call them and they pick you up, take you to the godalla for ride into Telluride. Look no further.

This house was even better than we expected. All of the rooms were very spacious. It was decorated and furnished with impeccable taste. The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms furnished with high quality towels. Kitchen was well equipped. Each bedroom has a full bath-perfect for multiple couples. We hosted a party for 60 and there was plenty of room for mingling. I would highly recommend this comfortable home and hope to return some day.

We rented the place for a destination wedding for a total of 18 people. The area is beautiful and the house is amazing. There are definite pros and cons with this property.
Pros: size, area, amenities, service- we reported things that were broken- coffee pot and toaster oven and they were replaced that day.
Cons: the elevator was broken which made it difficult to get 80+ year olds up and down any stairs. As a result, we had to put my in-laws on an air mattress in the fitness room on the ground floor. The outdoor firepit was broken and waiting for a part. We were really disappointed as the wedding was outside and we were there for 4 nights and would have definitely used it every night. There were a lot of electrical problems- light switches buzzed loudly but didn't turn on, and the light in one of the master rooms wouldn't turn off the first night so we had to sleep with it on. The bed support on the queen in the room with the bunk beds was totally broken so it was unusable. I had 4 tall adults sleeping in bunk beds too short for them as a result. My understanding was that the place had not been used since ski season and was checked out frequently, but these problems should have been fixed prior to our arrival- especially for the price we had to pay!! We did get some money refunded for the lack of the fire pit. I reported all of the other problems so hopefully they will get fixed. Also, out of all the weekends it sits empty, they wanted to show the house on wedding day! They worked very hard to accommodate our schedule, but it did add extra stress on a day we didn't need it.
I would definitely recommend this house for a rental for a large group but not sure it is the best for the very young or the old who have trouble getting around. Lots of steps and very large.
Thank you for taking the time to review.. We sincerely apologize about the outdoor fire pit and this issue has since been corrected. We do our best to educate guests on potential showings for homes on the market and the showing did take place on the morning of the event, with a 24 hour notice. We realize it's inconvenient, but is one of the requirements for a home on the real estate market. Overall, for an event and a four night stay, these guests paid under $90 a night per person for a $10 Million Estate, so we feel it was a great value for over 18 guests and an event. Some of the issues stated were also due to a capacity over 18 and they have since been fixed and corrected.
Thank you for staying with us.

A most elegant home on 2 acres in Mountain Village. Our family of 10 had more then enough room. Great movie theatre, pool room w/large screen tvs in every bedrm. Large center living room with nice big roaring fireplace. We have stayed in another Mountain Village home about 3 yrs ago and all leave nothing to be desired. Only recommendation to managing staff is this house had several very minor items that need attentionor repair. I reported to Kevin and I know he will handle. Beautiful vistas.Seven days of joy for all of us. Tough to leave such a beautiful property. Thanks

We arrived mid-July 2013 with 13 family members. House sleeps 18 and we were very comfortable. We enjoyed the hiking trails which were abundant as the forrest surrounds the home. The home's amenities were excellent and in excellent condition in this beautiful home called a Place in the Sun. Telluride Rentals and there staff went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our stay was memorable with every request being handled promptly and courteously. We will definitely make return visits, it is nestled at the top of the mountain where there is no traffic, noise or people. Beautiful property inside and out. No expense was spared in the building of this home and its surrounding property.

We opted to use this house for our wedding (80 guests). It was amazing! We rented the house for a full week and were able to fit our entire family in the house. The staff at Telluride rentals were so helpful, they helped us connect with furniture movers and cleaners so we could get the place set up for the wedding.
So glad to hear your special day was a success! Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you for a honeymoon!

We rented this home to have our wedding. The home is absolutely gorgeous and is an incredible place to hold this type of special event. Breath taking views from all different places in the home. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.
