“hols with kids” we stayed in the mushroom house (lower apt), very nice, modern ,with everything that we needed and we really enjoyed tenby and the surrounding places.if i have to find fault it is that the noise from the upstairs apt is a bit too much at times especially if like us you find there are young children up there.

“Comfortable, convenient and relaxing” The Gallery offered a high standard of living accommodation. We had our 6 yr old son with us and so its location being 5 mins from the beach was ideal. We were very lucky with the weather so that added to an excellent experience. Additionally, it was well placed for visiting other sites, such as, castles, folly farm and other such attractions.

“Excellent property within easy reach of town and beaches” Property available on arrival and was spacious and comfortable. Within walking distance of the town centre and the beaches which were fabulous. In particular South Beach and its amenities are recommended. Facilities at North Beach need upgrading. Particularly recommend walking along beaches when the tide is out.

About Tenby

This walled seaside town in Pembrokeshire offers three miles of sandy beaches and plenty of historic attractions to see. Surrounded by a medieval stone wall, Tenby is a sight to behold but the wonders don't stop there. Nestled between the rolling Pembrokeshire hills and the placid waters of Carmarthen Bay, there has been a settlement here since the 9th century. From the early 19th century, Tenby became a fashionable vacation destination for both the Welsh and the English. The town is simply adorable, teeming with the archetypes of pubs and shops and summertime reverie. Visitors love the beaches (of course) but the Victorian houses painted in all types of colors are a welcoming scene as you settle into your vacation and explore Tenby.

Things to do in Tenby

The beaches are the main attraction of Tenby. Sit in the sun and play in the surf at Castle Beach or Freshwater East, two of the more popular beaches. Live the history at Carew Castle, a Norman castle that overlooks one of only 3 tidal mills left in Britain. Tenby Castle is located on a high rocky headland. Little now remains of this castle, however a fragmented, much repaired piece can be seen and toured. More modern attractions include Wales' only theme park at Oakwood, the Heatherton World of Adventure, the Dinosaur Park and Ocean Commotion, ensuring there is plenty to enjoy for kids too.

Head to Caldey Island on a short ferry where the island exudes calm, probably due to the ownership by a community of monks. Visitors can watch the birds or just relax on the beach here. St. Mary's Church is a 15th century relic with incredible architecture and a must-see spire. On Castle Hill the Tenby Museum & Art Gallery features landscapes and portraits from Pembrokeshire artists.

Walk the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path for fantastic views of Caldey Island. Stroll the narrow cobbled streets of Tenby itself or sit in one of the many cafes and people-watch other visitors to the gift shops, restaurants and public houses, or wander along the harbor.

Lastly, the Tudor Merchant's House on Quay Hill is a museum of the life of a wealthy merchant and his family at the turn of the 16th century. The merchant's shop, kitchen and living room are furnished in the style of Tudor times.

Quality accomedation and walking distance from Tenby

Everything was as advertised, plus more. Lighting, sofas, unbelievable. Greatest benifit was being walking distance to Tenby, with its many shops, eating places and beaches. Liked least??? Manuals for recycling ,dustbin, or anything to keep the apartment tiptop. [ felt guilty leaving it all to the owner ]see more
