Boasting sea views and plenty of green space, this contemporary four-bedroom home in Terres Basses is one of our must-see St. Martin villas. Well known for its vibrant nightlife, platinum sand beaches and temperate climate, the island of St. Martin is sure to make for an unforgettable tropical retreat.
In the back yard, you’ll find a large terrace overlooking the property’s manicured lawn and towards the distant sea. Choose from one of the many comfy loungers that surround the large swimming pool and sip on a cocktail. The pool is also a great spot for night swimming, thanks to underwater lighting. A row of bar stools line one side of the terrace connecting to the villa’s kitchen, for easy access to drinks and snacks. Under the covered portion of the patio is a large sitting area as well as a dining table, perfect for enjoying an alfresco meal while watching a sunset.
The interior of the home is contemporary with an airy, open-concept great room, soaring ceilings, stylish furnishings and travertine flooring throughout. The living room opens up to the terrace and includes wicker furnishings with soft plush cushions surrounding a flatscreen TV. From here, walk through an arched open doorway and find yourself in the bright, fully equipped kitchen looking out onto the terrace.
With four well-appointed bedrooms located on the lower level for privacy, the villa will accommodate up to eight guests. All the suites feature king size beds, large en-suite bathrooms, TVs and air conditioning, making this an ideal destination for a group of friends.
The vibrant city of Marigot is a quick 10-minute drive away and features brightly colored homes, restaurants and craft markets.

The villa is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. The open kitchen is great for cooking and entertaining and the open air dining area was a fantastic place to gather for family meals. The pool was great for the kids and adults. A perfect set up for families and groups who can enjoy the open spaces, living room, deck and pool and then have the privacy of their own room with private bath. The location is convenient to many activities and the close proximity to some of the best beaches was great. - Bliss W., Massachusetts, USA

Everything went off perfectly and we were pleasantly surprised and very much appreciated the the free car. This was our second visit to La Bastide. The first one was about 5 years ago and we were amazed at how well kept the villa was. We had forgotten that the pool was unheated, however, that did not prove to be a problem. We couldn\'t find anyting to be critical about the villa or the sevice by either luxury retreats staff or the maid. We would make only one suggetion. The owners might want to provide small tables between Chaise Lounges poolside and more coasters so that water stains can be avoided on wooden furniture. As far as St Martin is concerned they need to improve the infrastructure, the roads are a disgrace and the drivers are very poor. Most vehicles are badly dented and scratched. - Ronald F., ON,

A truly amazing experience, we were in Paradise :) The home was PERFECT, the staff was wonderful, everything was truly fabulous, it was an amazing island, the home exceeded my expectations! We especially loved our critter friends, a bird who was waiting for her eggs to hatch at La Bastide, our pet crab, greeted us when we opened the front door the second day, who had an unfortunate death a couple days later, and our friendly dog that visited every afternoon, we loved them all!! I honestly never wanted to leave our home in the evenings, in fact we only ate dinner out one night because we enjoyed the villa so much :)

"Although the service of the staff and concierge was readily available and qualitative, there were too many things that had to be fixed or done when I arrived. No available connection for ipods to the stereo. A warning about the ant problem and improved TV viewing options for all rooms – better satellite boxes. Could hardly ever watch TV."
