Nestled in Hillside, Villa Escapade is one of our top St. Martin villas, thanks to its island and ocean views, as well as its spacious back terrace. Owned by both the French and Dutch governments, the tropical island of St. Martin is known for its colorful trees, fantastic beaches and its eclectic nightlife scene.
Unwind on the ample-sized patio boasting sweeping views of the Simpson Bay Lagoon and the Caribbean sea beyond. Take your pick from one of the many cushioned lounge chairs and relax with a cold drink from the outdoor bar. The centerpiece is a large infinity- edge pool that appears to drop off over the bay. As a part of a small enclave of homes you will also have access to a nearby, shared tennis court where you can challenge your guests to a friendly match.
The interior of this airy home features soaring beamed ceilings, tile flooring and natural light from the villa’s many windows. The great room opens up to the terrace and includes a large living space with a flatscreen TV and plenty of seating on soft cushioned wicker furnishings. A marble-topped dining table sits just across from the living room and you can craft a home-cooked meal in the fully equipped kitchen that includes a marble-topped island and windows that fully open up to the terrace.
Up to eight guests can comfortably sleep in this villa’s four bedrooms, each features its own color and design scheme. Two of the bedrooms include a king size bed while the remaining suites have two twins. Every room boasts access to the terrace through French doors, as well as a private en-suite bathroom and air conditioning.
You’ll be just a short drive from the beach where you can stretch out on the white sands or snorkel in its warm waters. A 10-minute drive takes you to the capital city, Marigot, where you’ll find gingerbread houses, sidewalk bistros and boutique shopping.

We stayed at Escapade over Christmas and New Years with our family of 7. The villa is located in Terres Basses in a gated community of 5 other villas with a shared tennis court. The location is ideal as it is close to the airport and well situated near great beaches and restaurants in Marigot or Grand Case are an easy drive. The view over the lagoon and ocean is spectacular. The villa is truly an outdoor living area with the kitchen, dining room and living room all fully open. Even the bathrooms are open with cleverly placed walls and screens to protect your privacy. Val provides daily housekeeping and Exile, who lives on the property provides maintenance & caretaking. Both are very friendly. The villa is quite spacious and the pool and lounging area is awesome providing sun and shade. There are a few things that could be improved given the cost: BBQ is very old with a small grill. The appliances are old and low end. Wireless not available in bedrooms. Only one TV in the entire villa.

Nice Villa but could use some items that would make it nicer: 2nd bedroom with King bed should be upstairs and not isolated Care taker shows up un announced and spend too much time in Villa Property should be sprayed for mosquito - Ken Z., Pensylvania, USA

Villa Escapade lived up to most of our expectations. Great view, comfortable beds, clean, good location, nice pool. (a little too deep at the one end for how we use a pool but...) All the amenities we needed worked well. It\'s a well kept property that could use a little updating in spots. Our only really disappointment, if you could call it that was, it needs a better bbq. The one there is very small and cheap but we managed. If it were my villa I\'d also update the rooms off the pool with new doors and screens. The stereo system worked well enough but could use a bit of an upgrade as well. None of that took anything away from the good time we had and when we went out, it was always a pleasure returning to this villa. - Wayne M., Ontario, Canada

This is our 2nd trip to the island and we had a wonderful time. We spent much less time at the villa than usual. The manager was intrusive and we felt very little privacy We went with a group of women, but I would never go with couples due to this. The pool is much smaller than it appears on the web site. The view was lovely. - Lynne N., Massachusetts, USA

The villa is beautiful, clean and well kept. I was very impressed how smoothly everything went from booking the vacation until our week was over. The villa could use some updating, our microwave almost exploded. Otherwise, our entire party was very happy with the experience and would return to the island again and rent a villa. - Wendy B., Ontario, Canada

Escapade is a beatiful villa. The view was stunning, surrounds relaxing and soothing, and the staff very helpful. The arrangements worked extremely well; we were met on time, and the car rental went smoothly. With the provisions provided, and the French market nearby we enjoyed the kitchen and the beautiful dining areas. The chaise lounges on the pool deck provided a space for reading, relaxing and enjoying the view. We particularly enjoyed the openess of the villa; there were stunning views everywhere we looked, although the wives were somewhat concerned with the openess of the bathrooms -- perhaps some form of a privicy screen could be available for those who wish it. Overall we were extremely pleased with the villa and the arrangements. - Jerry H., North Carolina, USA

I have been to the island approximately 10 times. I have stayed at Le mas de Sables.Petit Pont.Jacaranda. Day-o, and Soleil Couchant(4 times). While I love beachfront properties, Escapade had the most amazing view of any property I have been to. THe villa could use a little updating in terms of decor and amenities(how much is a new microwave?),but, overall it was very comfortable and led to a great experience. By the way, this is Michael Feldman and not Barry Silverman. - Barry S., Ohio, USA

It was a success. Of all the things we loved to do on the island, coming home was at the top. Walking through the doors of our villa and taking in the breathtaking view out to the horizon was my favourite. - Teresa B., ,
