Additional Location Information

Villa Carob is technically in the municipality of Benitachell, half-way between MORAIRA and JAVEA. Benitachell (a 15 minute walk away) is a typically Spanish hilltop village, with narrow streets, a covered market, a weekly open market, and plenty of traditional bars frequented in the main by the local people. There is also a modern, very well stocked, supermarket providing everything you need for your holiday, and including fresh fish and meat counters, and a mouth watering selection of local and international cheeses.
The lovely beach at Cumbre del Sol is just over the hill from the villa, about 5,5 Kms away.
JAVEA is about 10 minutes away by car. This is a much busier resort where there is plenty to do. Shopping, swimming, fishing, golf, tennis etc. There are a number of beaches in Javea, including the sandy Arenal beach with its promenade; the stony Grava beach in the Port area; Granadella and Barraca beaches near to Cabo de la Nao. All the beaches have bars and restaurants, and you can hire sun beds and parasols. Each year Jávea celebrates several fiestas. Ones not to be missed are San Juan, June 18th to 24th, being the main fiesta of the 'old town'. The last night boasts a terrific firework display and the burning of a 'falla'. During July there is the colourful Moors and Christians festival and 1st to 8th September is the Virgen de Loreto, port fiestas. Not to be missed is the last night, 8th September, the firework display is spectacular.
MORAIRA is about 10 minutes south of Benitachell. The pretty port area is a great place to wander round, looking at the shops, or perhaps stop for a coffee and watch the world go by. There are a couple of sandy beaches and many rocky coves.
Benitachell is situated in the Northern Costa Blanca, just over an hour's drive from Alicante and Valencia airports. Both these airports are extremely well served by scheduled, "no-frills" and charter flights, every day of the week.
The Northern Costa Blanca has long been a popular holiday destination for Spaniards and foreigners alike. The area is still famous for its Valencia oranges that are exported all over the world. Within half hour's drive is Benidorm where a fun day out is guaranteed with a visit to Terra Mitica (theme park), Aqualandia (water park), Terra Natura or Mundomar. And in the evening a trip to Benidorm Palace where a spectacular cabaret is performed - not to be missed! Visit Alicante to see the old Castle, or wander around the port. And more locally, enjoy a drive inland to picturesque Guadalest perched high above a lake. The city of Valencia has many monuments well worth a visit and is also a great place to go shopping. And not too far away is Buñol where the world famous 'Tomatina' fiesta is celebrated each year on the last Wednesday of August. It is also possible to visit Barcelona or Madrid by train in a day!
