Situated in the South Georgian Bay region, one of Canada's finest four season resort areas, this 2000 square foot modern executive chalet cottage is conveniently located just minutes from superb winter skiing, beautiful summer beaches and a wide range of year-round events and attractions. The all-season, 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom chalet cottage is perched on an escarpment overlooking Georgian Bay and the surrounding countryside. This tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished chalet cottage can accommodate 10 persons and has all the comforts of home. It is an ideal vacation choice for small groups and families. In the winter when the ground is blanketed with white fluffy snow, it makes a great ski chalet with easy access to the Blue Mountain Resort/Village and cross country skiing and snowshoeing at the Scenic caves and Kolapore Uplands. The main entrance to the chalet cottage is on the ground floor. The entry foyer has slate tile flooring and plenty of room for shoes and jackets. On the ground level there is a 3 piece bathroom with a large tiled walk-in shower with a rain head. There is also a cozy family room that can be used as a 4th bedroom. It has two comfortable couches (one is a pull out double bed), a TV and wood burning fireplace for aprÃ¨s ski or cool evenings. The family room is a great spot for keeping the kids occupied if the weather turns bad or simply enjoying a cup of tea and a good book. For your convenience there is a washer and dryer for your laundry needs during your stay. From the entrance foyer is it’s up a set of stairs to the main living area where you will find a spacious great room, kitchen and dining area with beautiful hardwood floors, and plenty of large bright windows with fantastic views of Georgian Bay and the countryside. The great room features comfortable furniture to unwind in. With two comfy full size couches, coffee table, TV, radio, DVD player, and gas fireplace set in a stone wall - it’s ideal for a relaxing morning coffee while taking advantage of the view, afternoon conversations, or enjoying an evening with your family. The large dining room comfortably seats six people. From the dining room take the door to a large outdoor deck. There is plenty of room on the deck. It has a patio table with six chairs for enjoying some great outdoor meals, and a propane BBQ for grilling up some BBQ feasts. The deck makes a perfect gathering spot for the cooks. It is also a super spot for taking advantage of the view, catching some sun, socializing, catching up with family members, or relaxing with your book and/or favourite vacation beverage. From the deck it’s just a short stroll to a hillside fireplace that is available for evening campfires, and is a great place to take in the starry night sky and share stories. Next to the dining room is a modern galley kitchen with a window over the sink. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, cutlery, fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, tea pot and blender to satisfy your culinary needs and make meal preparation a pleasure. At the end of the kitchen is a breakfast nook with a small dining table and four chairs. The breakfast nook has a bright window and a patio door to the rear yard. On the main living level there are also 3 bedrooms with hardwood floors and large bright windows. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a 4 piece sink, toilet, tub/shower ensuite bathroom that is the shared main bathroom. It has a granite counter top and tiled tub/shower enclosure. In the master bedroom there is a patio door to a small private rear yard deck. The other two bedrooms have 3-sleeper, single over double bunk beds. Groceries and day to day shopping are conveniently located a short drive away in Meaford and major stores can be found 30 minutes away in Collingwood. Downtown Meaford and Collingwood offer a wide variety of shopping, dining, entertainment, arts & culture events including festivals and attractions to please the whole family. Both have summer Farmer’s Markets that are great places to buy local. The area has superb alpine and cross country skiing. There is rock climbing at Metcalf Rock (Kolapore Uplands). You can cycle the challenging mountain bike trails at Three Stage Trails (Pretty River Valley Provincial Park), or enjoy some of the best road cycling in Ontario. Attend a live performance at Meaford Hall Arts & Cultural Centre, visit one of the local wineries, or take a fishing charter. Hike, bike or snowshoe the Georgian Trail (a 35 km rail trail that connects Meaford, Thornbury & Collingwood). Don’t forget to pick up some apples, jam and pies at Gramma Lambe’s. For something unique try Ted’s Range Road diner just outside Meaford for a meal and Wednesday Jamm Night, or try the Dam Pub â a Scottish whisky pub featured on the TV show ‘You Gotta Eat Here’. The area provides great year round opportunities with something for everyone.
