Cottage Profile This beautiful three bedroom waterfront cottage is located on a quiet dead-end road at the tip of the Bruce, on the dividing line between Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. The main living area features a cathedral ceiling which provides a wonderful openess to the cottage. The two large windows in the livingroom fill the lower level with natural light and provide a beautiful view of Lake Huron. The open concept living room, kitchen/dining area provides a seating arrangement for six at an antique circular hardwood maple table with press back chairs. The kitchen area is fully equipped with a fridge, stove, and microwave. Livingroom furnishings include a stereo with CD player, a comfortable pull-out couch, as well as two armchairs for relaxing after a days hike. The wood stove provides added warmth to the cozy cottage on a cool evening. There are three bedrooms, two of which are located on the ground floor. One bedroom on the main floor contains a queen bed, the other a double. A third bedroom/den is located on the second floor. This room has a set of bunkbeds, a small couch, and a flatscreen television with satellite and DVD/VCR player. Trees surrounding the cottage provide a lovely private setting. There are three decks on the property. The large wooden deck located on the west side of the cottage is a perfect place to sit either on the cedar chairs or at the picnic table and have your wake-up coffee in the morning sun. The large new lakeside deck sits in the sun by midday and is a wonderful place to relax, read and eat your meals while watching the waves roll in. This deck has patio furniture for your relaxation, as well as a table which seats 6 with a large umbrella for shade. A beautiful view of Lake Huron and the evening sunsets are a sight to behold from this deck! If you wish to have a more secluded place to enjoy your morning or afternoon beverage, visit the shoreline deck. A unique wooden boardwalk bridge with a railing leads from the cottage down to the deck and a lovely shoreline with pools of water and limestone outcroppings. This deck provides a place where you can relax and watch the swimmers cool down in the beautiful Lake Huron waters. The lake water is amazingly clear and snorkeling to the old schooner shipwreck a short distance offshore is an experience! And, just when you think it can't get any better, top off the evening by returning back to the lakeside deck for a beautiful lasting sunset. Tobermory is short distance away (9 km). You can stroll through the shops, visit the library, restaurants and see the beautiful natural harbour. Scenic boat cruises to view shipwrecks and lighthouses are available daily and a trip to Flowerpot Island is a must for all who visit! Dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun are also very popular and if that's not to your liking, there are many places to eat in town where you can watch the beautiful sunsets and converse with friends. Don't forget to try the ice-cream! For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream come true. Pete's Cove is even better than it looks online. The cottage is in great shape, obviously well maintained, with pretty well everything you might need during your stay - aside from towels, of course. The best assets are definitely the big deck on the lake side of the house, the boardwalk out to the hammock nestled in a small patch of trees on the shore, and the waterfront, with its giant's stepping stones and tiny natural kayak port. The location feels a lot more secluded than it is; the owners have made perfect use of a great location.

We'd never rented a cottage before, and we found Pete's Cove to be comfortable and clean, with enough kitchen supplies to handle all our cooking needs. The views are amazing, and the platform overlooking the water is perfect. Very close to the Bruce Trail and provincial park.

We spent a week at Pete's Cove with our two young girls and our dog. Everyone loved the gorgeous location, the interesting geography and for me - the mom - the most beautiful sunsets! Each night I would get a glass of wine, head to the water and enjoy my new happy place.
The shoreline is rocky but makes for a great adventure. We saw fish, frogs and snakes - which was a great thrill for the girls and the dog!
The cottage was well equipped and the owners called the first day to make sure we were OK.
The town is close, but not too close, and the attractions near Tobermory make it worth the drive from east of Toronto. The scenery is simply beautiful. We can't wait to go back!

This cottage was perfect for our needs. Great location and lots of lovely touches made it feel like a home from home. The shoreline was amazingly private - great for chilling or messing around in the water. We were there during an extreme heat week, so the cottage got a little too warm inside for comfort at night, especially upstairs, but that's cottage life I suppose! Would definitely recommend though - perfect for a family break.

A scenic view of Lake Huron, and a welcoming network of roads and trails to Georgian Bay and Tobermory make Pete's Cove a warm and dynamic retreat. An elevated boardwalk, strategic positioning of muskoka chairs and appropriately placed fire pit capture the most of the moments away from home. While your neighbours are closer than they feel, the site makes one feel that Lake Huron is yours for the enjoying alone.

Everything you want in a cottage, you got it at Pete's Cove: Fantastic views, breathtaking nature, and last but not least a luxurious cottage! Our expectations were exceeded by far. Not only the woodstove, which made the cottage even cosier, but also the firepit is there and we had s'mores at the end of November. All of us had an incredible experience with both, the cottage, which is extremely well equipped, and Tobermory/Bruce Peninsula. If you love nature, you'll love it and we cannot imagine a better place to stay than at Pete's Cove. We'll be back for sure!

Comfortable and well maintained cottage. Vistas on property were gorgeous. Amount of privacy and peace and quiet were fantastic. Close to all the wonderful Tobermory activities. We had a wonderful 2 week stay and then it all changed. We received an email on the Sunday of our return chastising us that although we paid the $100.00 cleaning fee the owner was angry with the amount of dog hair left behind. We were told that we "did not make any attempt to keep the hair under control". Not true, we vacuumed twice however the vacuum was in very poor condition and had no attachments. I was not pleased either. We are exceptionally clean people - other than the dog hair, the cottage did not require $100.00 cleaning. I cleaned the bathroom throughout our stay, everything was exceedingly tidy. Receiving this email was very upsetting - as you can likely deduce, I have not recovered yet. I have rented a cottage for 2 weeks every summer for the past 8 years and plan to do so next year also. I will not rent with rentcottage.com again - before you send accusatory messages, you should get the full story. The owner should also ensure that he provides functional cleaning equipment.

My family of four stayed at Pete's cove for a week at the end of August and absolutely loved it!
We had spectacular sunsets every night, went kayaking, enjoyed campfires and the view of lake Huron. The cottage is really well equipped and clean and comfortable.
The Tobermory harbour which is only a ten minutes drive is very quaint and pretty. We caught the ferry to the flower pot island one day and also went to the Manitoulin Island as well.
The only inconvenience we experienced was a lack of washer and dryer but is a small price...

This is a wonderful small cottage in a beautiful setting. Although there are neighbours it is a very private setting, with a fantastic view of the lake which we enjoyed at all times. Our hosts were very thoughtful and we felt more like guests than strangers. The rental process was straightforward and all the communications were clear. The boardwalk to the water's edge was most appreciated by my mother, a senior citizen. I enjoyed my daily walks, bird watching and just unwinding in those 'Tobermory' chairs by the lake!Thank you to everyone who helped make this holiday so stress-free.

My family and I stayed at this wonderful place for one week in July 2008. It was an unforgettable stay and the most relaxing vacations I've ever had. The cottage is spaceous and very well maintained and has everything you need. Whether on the "sunset point", the balcony or the cosy "barbecue place" on a sunny day you can always find a sunny spot. Also you're always surrounded by beautiful birds, cute little chipmunks and squirrels. I highly recommend renting this cottage to you!!

This is a charming place - clean, quiet, well equipped and with incredible views. We wouldn't hesitate to rent it again. Tobermory is a lovely town and there are numerous places to visit and enjoy in the vicinity. We didn't have time to see them all last year but are hoping to pay a return visit soon.
