Great cottage, spacious, clean, well laid out. Fabulous deck, great BBQ; best one in over 20 years of renting, fired 1st time every time. Lots of privacy, nobody home either side of us. Birds, chipmunks and snowshoe hares were entertaining. Mattresses great, no sleeping issues. All bdrms had fans and we had good lake breezes most eves. The negs: We cottaged the week before in Chapleau so a washing machine would have been great. The water is farther away than it looks in the pix that we referred to when we booked and the hike out there is not suitable for young children, not that we have any. The nit-picky thing, a towel bar in the bathroom would have been nice instead of leaving towels in the small shelving unit provided. We have always rented with swimming at the doorstep so even though the cottage itself is excellent, we did find the $1600 plus fees a bit steep, I would think $1200 or $1300 more appropriate. Other cottages we have booked in the past in that price range had 2nd bathrms but that wasn't a big deal.
“Tobermory is "the spot" for hiking, biking & snokeling!!”

Cottage was exactly as depicted in the photos on the RentCottage website and the description was bang-on; so there were no surprises or let-down when we arrived. Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Even though there were neighbors it was very private and quiet. Not suitable for a family with small children but we have three teenagers so it worked well. The cottage was centrally located on the Bruce and close to the action of Tobermory.
The Bruce is made for hikers and snokelers and we took full advantage of both from this Dorcas Bay location. Only things we should have brought with us were our bikes and our dog (she would have loved it but there was a strict no pets policy). On the one hand that was nice because the cottage did not have that "wet dog" smell.
Recommend the cottage and the area for active couples and families into biking, hiking and swimming/snokeling. The snokeling in the area is excellent. We shall return!
