RiverTime-Upscale Riverfront Cabin near Boone & Skiing
Description from the manager
River Time is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise! You are able to hike, fish, fly-fish, mountain bike, kayak, tube, and run/jog right outside your door. Or maybe you want to just relax and unwind? This is the perfect escape. Lounge around on the wrap-around deck overlooking the New River and spot the abundant wild life and waterfowl. Our house is a two year old solidly built custom home on 7 acres of beautiful land and New River waterfrontage. We are a little over 1 mile from the Todd General Store, Railroad Grade Road (great for biking), and about 12 miles from all of Boone’s activities.
Enter the house via the large mudroom with full length custom built bench and hooks to hang your jackets, hats, scarves etc. There is a washer and dryer and ½ bath to round out the entryway. Then walk into the main floor with a large farmhouse dining table (seats 8), breakfast bar (seats 3), and a fully furnished chef’s kitchen with granite countertops.
Prepare to be awed with the floor to ceiling stone wood-burning fireplace. This is the main focal point of the house with vaulted ceiling and exposed wood beams. Our living room has a large sofa and coffee table to view the Hi-Def 46” flat screen T.V. This floor level has the master bedroom with private balcony, master bath with heated floors, open air shower, and an oversized nickel plated copper tub (great to soak in) with chandelier hanging above.
Climbing the stairs to the 2nd floor is our loft area and 2 more bedrooms and full bath. The loft is another place for your children, yourself (or both!) to have fun playing board games, Wii games, or even just a good game of cards. There is a couch, lounger, and a single sleeper chair for those extra friends or family. The first bedroom has 2 double beds with a custom closet and second room has a double and twin with room on the wood floor for a blow up mattress if needed. There is one bathroom with double sinks, heated floors and a standard bath/shower combo. All rooms have incredible views!
We do have a finished walk out basement and connecting garage with 2 queen sleeper sofas and another full bath. The basement is a great hangout with pool table and foosball table, several floor to ceiling bookcases with a wide variety of books and magazines. It’s always cool in the summers, and winters can be warmed with the large stone wood burning fireplace. If you want more of an outdoor feel, you can walk right outside and roast s’mores in the fire pit either down by the river or on the side of the house.
If the outdoors are calling you, enjoy the spacious covered and uncovered decks with picnic table and chairs, or ride the lazy New River in the complimentary kayak and 4 tubes provided for your use.
River Time is simply a beautiful house that we have put so much of our love, time, blood, sweat and tears into. We’ve opened it up as a vacation home and hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Thank you for choosing us, and we welcome your comments.
Towels and linens are provided of course, but paper products are not. Animal loving owners welcome your family dog with prior notice and pet fee.

The house and amenities was great. The only negative we have was that there is a house being built yards away and the contractors were working on the first day we arrived, and then the homeowners arrived on both days- with a shared driveway and no curtains in the house except the bedroom it is not nearly as private as "private cabin" might elude.
We are glad you enjoyed the beautiful custom log cabin and many amenities(game room, fire pit, riverfront)at River Time. The neighboring house being built is on its own acreage, even if the driveway is shared, and is new construction which is common in the beautiful NC Mountains on the river. We will take your concern into consideration for addition of curtains for privacy. We hope you will come back soon!
