Truly heavenly, Tingalayo rests atop a mountain, enjoying a cascading vista of Apple Bay - dotted with superyachts - and the twinkling lights of the distant islands beyond. Shaded nooks and generous palm-fringed terraces make it possible to enjoy the mind-stilling views and shocking pink sunsets from every angle and on a clear day you can see all the way to Puerto Rico! This exclusive private estate occupies nearly four acres of tropical paradise, flourishing with breadfruit trees, hibiscus, aloe and carpets of golden flowers.
This lavish island villa is designed around a sensational cloud-shaped infinity edge pool, which appears to drop into the ocean below. Bordered by a spacious pool terrace bedecked with plush loungers, it’s the perfect spot for stretching out catlike in the sun or savoring an ice-cold sundowner. The open living floor plan, with expansive hardwood decks and hints of Bali, offers a peaceful place for contemplation while the courtyard and dining pavilion may tempt you to dine al fresco. A barbecue grill and entertainment room offers another lovely environment for chilling, eating and having fun and you can end the day under the stars in the heated spa pool.
Step indoors from the pool area to the cool blue lounge. Vibrant shades and intriguing artwork grace each room, combining modern Italian, Buddhist temple and Caribbean vibes. Sofas and chairs, stacked deep with cushions alongside shelves steeped in books make this an inviting retreat from the sun. There is plenty of relaxing digital and traditional entertainment on offer both here and in the bean-bagged home theater, chock full of DVDs, board and video games. A fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, a stove and separate pantry takes all the hassle out of meal preparation and the maid and gardener keep everything spick and span.
Each of the six air-conditioned bedrooms at Tingalayo is designed for premium rest and relaxation. California king size beds, sensational views and deluxe bathrooms with showers - some alfresco - and tubs are just some of the luxuries on offer. You’ll need to draw straws for the ultra-luxe master suite which boasts a jetted tub, outdoor daybed and private deck.
Renting a sturdy vehicle is recommended for navigating Tortola’s mountainous roads. Car and motor boat rental can be arranged at extra cost. It’s a 10 minute drive to local grocery stores, a church, restaurants and tennis courts and a 2-hour ferry trip to the nearest golf course.

There are no words that could ever adequately describe our experience with Luxury Retreats and our time spent at Tingalyo. From the minute we were contacted by Lyn, our villa specialist, to the amazing attentiveness and professionalism of Sarah Fogg, our conceirge, our vacation became stress free. Sarah saw to our every need (transportation, ferry services and schedules. dining options, provisioning, and suggestions/bookings for activities. She is top notch! Tingalayo, although beautifully profiled in pictures, far exceeded our expectations. It is a paradise on earth that has to been seen to be believed! We were speechless upon arrival (yes, even the kids)! The staff at Tingalayo made us feel so welcome and truly saw that we wanted for nothing. If we could have taken Carmen, Ceasar and Lynn home with us we would have. They made us feel like family. All in all, it was one of the most amazing vacations we have ever taken. We hope to visit this special place again one day ! - Wendy K., Pennsylvania, USA

The house is amazing: the most breathtaking views I\'ve ever seen in the Caribbean and I\'ve been going there for over 40 years. The staff, a daily maid Carmen and a gardener/maintenance man Cesar, were cheerful and eager to be helpful. The property manager, Lynn, was exceptionally helpful, calling and occasionally visiting to make certain we had everything we needed. - Judith H., NY,
