Beautiful house, very tastefully decorated- in minimalist but very comfortable style. Perfect for a family with children. Masterbedroom has a wrap around deck- great view of the beach. Also has a rooftop deck which is great for stargazing. House in located on a beautiful part of the beach and you are literally steps from the turquoise water. Also owner- Renaud very sweet and helpful. Definitely planning on returning.

If this house is available, rent it. It sits on one of the most beautiful beaches I
have ever seen, and the house itself is roomy, with comfortable places to sit.
And of course the view... We had excellent meals cooked for us in the house a
few days, and otherwise walked the beach to some nice restaurants. We will
definitely go back.

The house was nicer than we could've ever expected. The photographs didn't
do the place justice. The location could not have been more convenient yet still
very private. From the modern/rustic and smart design of the entire premises,
to the thoughtfully placed glass lanterns throughout the house, they didn't
miss a beat and it shows everytime you turn around . There are amazing views
from everywhere in the house..including the awesome master bath . There are
also many comfortable places to chill out. Did I mention Ade'? She came every
morning to brew a fantastic cup of coffee and the most delicious breakfasts.
The beach was spotless (someone comes to rake everyday) and the fluffy soft
towels were super cozy. I have been coming to Tulum for 15+ years, having
stayed at many places but Behla House was an experience all to itself.

Behla is a truly magical house. It is beautiful with a luxurious rustic feeling that is very fitting for Tulum. You literally have everything you could possibly need right there at the house. The three bedrooms are all very comfortable with full/queen beds and beautiful views. This house is perfect for a family or for 3 couples (which we did). The electricity runs 24 hours (they do recommend you minimize as best as possible) which is nice because many of the hotels shut electricity down at a certain hour. A woman comes every morning to clean and cook if you like. Hot coffee, fresh cut fruit and even quesadillas are waiting for you by the time you wake up. We also had her cook us lunch one day (for a very reasonable additional cost) and it was one of the best meals we had the whole trip. She cooks traditional Mexican food right in your own private space, making it easy to stroll in off the beach to enjoy a fantastic meal. I definitely would recommend doing this for at least one meal. The beach is absolutely amazing. You can walk for miles in both directions and you will not find a more secluded area of the beach. There are very few hotels right in the vicinity of the house (other than Coqui Coqui which is a very small and nice resort next door with great food as well.) The ocean and beach is perfect for swimming or lounging. The house even comes with four lounge chairs on the beach for relaxing and reading. A few more would be nice if you have a larger group at the house. We even had a private masseuse come to the house that was recommended by the owners and had amazing massages with the warm, sea air blowing in on us. Behla house is also in a perfect location. There are several restaurants and low key bars within walking distance from the house. However, other than dinner, seeing the Tulum Maya Site and maybe taking a yoga class, there really is very little need to leave the house at all.
If you are looking for a very low key, relaxing vacation, then Tulum and Behla house is the perfect escape. Many of the hotels in Tulum are very simple and uninviting. I did a lot of research prior to my trip and found Behla house to be the best option for both privacy and rustic luxury. Tulum is a beautiful and untouched area of the Yucat?n. It is truly a unique, unharmed area of Mexico that is impossible to find these days. You will leave this house feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and planning your next visit. I definitely plan to return.

My husband and I spent an incredible week at Behla Tulum last December and are hoping we can return again next winter. Simply put, the house, location and amenities are heavenly. Every detail seems to have been considered, from luxurious sheets and towels to the beautiful hand-made tables and lamps, the wonderfully functional kitchen with the attached outdoor lounge/deck looking out over the ocean... The views from every room in the house were amazing, and while all of the bedrooms were great, the master suite blew us away with its wrap around porch and Moroccan style lounge, the soak tub looking out at the water...
The house manages to feel very private, though conveniently it is next to a small spa and within walking distance to yoga and many good restaurants along the beach. The private beach at Behla was exactly what you would hope for- clean, powder white sand, clear blue water-all steps away from your front door. We've rented houses in other tropical locales (Costa Rica, Jamaica, Puerto Rico) but none have come close to our stay in Tulum. Thank you Laurie and Renaud for sharing your beautiful property!

If you're looking for a non-hotel, private "right on the beach" vacation spot, you can't do any better than Behia. We were SO thrilled to find the listing on line, and upon arrival it surpassed all our best expectations. The house is perfect in every way. Contemporary, bright, spacious, and a stones throw from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The fantastic hosts offer a range of services, so you can choose to be totally pampered, or go it on your own. And even though we chose the "on your own" option, their wonderful caretaker was in the kitchen by 7:30am making coffee and cutting up fresh fruit. That was an extra we were not expecting, and of course loved. The house is very private, set on a magnificent semi-remote section of the beach, but if you need some action, you can walk either direction to may bars and restaurants, or take a short drive to town. The best part about a Tulum beach vacation is that you can choose to do allot, or nothing, and either way, it?s heaven.

We stayed at Behla Tulum in March of 2008 and absolutely loved it! It's a beautiful, spotless, well maintained, high end property right on the beach. The owners were very accommodating and we felt very well taken care of. Loree and Renaud were gracious, and made us feel right at home. They even helped arrange massages on the balcony overlooking the ocean - bliss! The rooms were gorgeous and comfortable, great sheets, comfy beds, etc. The location on the beach was perfect, too. We could walk to restaurants and Tulum town was just a short drive, as were the ruins in Coba and Tulum. We can't wait to go back and would HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone looking for a wonderful spot to get away and relax in luxury and comfort. We felt totally spoiled and the only hard part was heading back to reality at the end of our vacation.
“Behla is a an incredible beach house and Loree and Renaud are wo”

I have to take the time to thank Loree and Renaud for providing my wife and I with a perfect escape in Tulum. Smiling and with closed eyes I can remember the views of the water, from the bed, the tub, from everywhere. This house is right on the beach and was just what we were looking for. We wanted something luxurious but not in the fancy hotel sense of the word-Renting a private house was the perfect solution. The house is beautiful. Designed by the hosts themselves its architecturally unique, it stays cool and feels sturdy and secure, I knew right away that we had made the right choice. I was relieved because I was a bit nervous to rent it sight unseen but we took a chance on Behla and are so happy we did!
We had delicious meals cooked for us every day and really felt totally taken care of. The beds were clean and comfortable and the bedding was really very nice. There was also very little traffic on the beach, which was great.
Make sure to do the lagoon floating tour with Mauricio, and throw in a few foot massages while your there!
In the end our stay at Behla was everything we had hoped for. When we return to Mexico were going straight back, but next time it will be for at least a month!
