Additional Location Information
With so much to do, Providenciales keeps you coming back
The sultry allure of the British West Indies has entertained the fantasies of kings, conquerors, aristocrats and settlers for centuries. Now, most recently, tourists have taken advantage of the wealth of beauty and diverse activities available on the islands. During your stay at one of Elite’s impressive luxury vacation rentals, let your concierge help you experience the best of the Turks and Caicos.
Explore one of the world’s most renowned pristine coral reefs.
From your home base on Providenciales, or Provo, catch a scuba boat from your dock and explore part of the islands’ 200 miles of pristine coral reef. Among the most renowned and largest reefs in the world, Turks and Caicos’ has become Mecca for scuba divers and marine wildlife enthusiasts the world over. Explore these exquisite formations and swim with an array of exotic tropical fish, turtles, manta rays or friendly bottleneck dolphins, which have been known to approach both swimmers and divers.
Rent a pontoon, kayak or paddle boat at Chalk Sound National Park
Chalk Sound National Park lies close to your Elite villa; this expansive protected area covers half the island. Here, numerous birds hop, fly and leisurely stroll, making for great bird watching. Chalk Sound, the park’s namesake and most pronounced feature, is a three-mile long bay of still, translucent waters. On the park’s east side you’ll find rock carvings dating back to 1844 when shipwrecked sailors did their best to survive, immortalizing their names on Provo’s cave walls. While there, be sure to really look around. The summit on which the carvings rest offers some of the most spectacular views of the islands and a postcard-perfect Chalk Sound photo opportunity. Trek over to Las Brisas at Neptune Bay, just five minutes from many Elite villas, and rent a pontoon, kayak or paddle boat and explore Chalk Sound in style, flash in fun.
For those looking to get out on the water
Other Provo activities include windsurfing, boating or jet skiing. You can even have kayaks delivered to your home for an afternoon of coastal exploration, or charter a boat from Private Charters to create an afternoon of snorkeling, diving, hiking or explore one of the Caicos’ uninhabited islands nearby. Why not go sailing? Sail Provo’s private charter sailboats which are right next door to the conch farm. Perhaps take a picnic and enjoy the island views from afar. Ask Our Concierge for more information or to make reservations.
Still looking for more unique activities? Check this out:
If you’re up for a one of a kind experience, be sure to make a trip to the only conch farm in the world, located right on Provo Island. Here you’ll learn how to grow Caribbean Queens…and perhaps find yourself knowing a little more about the process than you’d like.
Try golf with an island twist
After all the adventure, be sure to relax with a round of golf on Provo’s par 72,
6,529 yard course, featuring a Florida-style layout with lots of traps and twists. After the game, lounge in the exquisite clubhouse or head out for some great shopping nearby
There’s more to Turks and Caicos than Provo…
One of the best ways to experience the Turks & Caicos Islands is to venture from Provo to one of the other islands: Grand Turk, East Caicos, West Caicos, Middle Caicos, North Caicos, South Caicos, Salt Cay. The short 20-35 minute flights these excursions require are a great way to take in some of the Caribbean’s most incredible views. When deciding where to go, give thought to whether you’re looking for nature or culture; Turks and Caicos offers both, from uninhabited islands to antique towns, ruins or bustling local centers, the islands offer every hue of the spectrum.
Want an experience of a lifetime? Humpback Whales from boat side or below.
One of the most inspiring sights in the world could be witnessing a herd of majestic whales making their yearly migration. One of the most exhilarating experiences? Swimming with them! From late December through April, a brilliant Atlantic pod of 2,500 humpback whales passes between Caicos’ and Turks’ islands during their annual migration. Take advantage of this opportunity to watch or even interact with these massive mammals.
Turks and Caicos invite you to lounge in the soft sand and enjoy the sun
During all this excitement, don’t forget the reason you came: the beach! Simply lounge on one of Provo’s many stretches of soft white sand (or your own private area near your Elite home), try parasailing, speed around the ocean on a jet ski or while water skiing or spend a little family time making sand castles or exploring the beaches for shells.
Shop any style
Indulge in a day of shopping at one of Provo’s three centers, each catering to your refined style with stores appealing to your most lavish desires. Of these, we recommend the Ports of Call area in Grace Bay. You’ll find plenty of shops and great people watching. Grab an ice cream cone from Giggles Ice Cream Parlor and enjoy the sunshine while browsing, and be sure to stop in Provo Dive shop for scuba and snorkeling gear before heading back to the villa.
Try your luck at Provo’s casino
Among the other activities, Provo also hosts the islands’ only casino! Enjoy Vegas-style games with an island twist. The casinos offer transportation to and from any of the resorts around the island—great for those who make evening reservations at resort restaurants or want some excitement after an afternoon at the spa.
Restaurants appealing to any palate
Food, one of the best parts of any vacation, takes many forms, flavors and varieties on Provo. The island offers restaurants perfect for a formal romantic evening, relaxing dining experiences and ocean front pier setups. Do a little exploring of your own or take advantage of the list of recommended eats provided by your concierge upon arrival.
Sick of cooking, but looking to lounge? Try our chef services
Though Provo has some of the best restaurants around, with cuisine ranging from Irish pub food to native tastes, be sure to spend a meal at home! Flag down the lobster boat from your dock, pick out some choice crustaceans and utilize your concierge’s connections to bring a chef into your vacation rental home and create the best meal you’ll have anywhere. Be sure to enjoy it cliff-top or oceanfront in your personal gazebo or tiki hut!
