We enjoyed our stay in the Casina al monte. We had everything we needed in the house, could visit Pisa, Lucca, Viareggio, Florence, etc. and return in the evening in our holiday home. We enjoyed to walk with our dog on the hill, behind the house, between the olive trees. From there we could see far away, also the tower of Pisa.

If you are looking for a place that is close enough to the major tourist attractions but far enough that you can have a pleasant stay relaxing with your family, this is the place.
The little house has everything you need to make your stay confortable and the view is beautiful; a nice view to wake up to! The little town is very cute and we bought fresh bread every morning from the panetteria .Very good!!! Silvia was kind, very helpful and eger to help with anything. I bought some of their delicious olive oil and loved it!

We all had a great time. Silvia was accomodating and very helpful. She kindly showed us where to get a pizza at 10 o'clock at nite on our arrival. Sorry we were soooo late! If you can, order boxes of the olive oil they produce. Heavenly drops. The only issue we had was the narrow driveway, but I believe they were widening it after we left. Knowing Silvia's sense of hospitality, it's probably already been done!
Vecchiano is relatively central to Lucca and Pisa and the Marina di Vecchiano lets you take a dip the old fashiond way, yep for free AND in the middle of the tourist season.
