We were a group of 9 women looking for an adventure and that is what we found. Doc House on Tybee Island was perfect for us. 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and plenty of living space for us to not get in each others way. Weather was a little cool in the evenings but daytime was just right for a picnic in the back yard and a bike ride around the island. There was a nice grocery store and plenty of restaurants and bars to keep us happy. House had all the necessities that we needed and the gazebo on the dock was great for our early morning cup of coffee. We had never rented a house before but can definitely say that we would will do that again over hotel rooms. Just so nice to all be together in one spot yet all do our own thing when we wanted. All of the arrangements were made by phone and on the net and it all turned out wonderfully. Thanks so much for a great time - we may see you again!!!

First of all, let me start by saying Tybee Island rentals saved my family and I from being homeless on vaction after a Craig's List scam. I talked to Carry on the phone at 5:50pm on a Friday and she was very helpful and understanding even though they were closing in 10 minutes. We had a party of 12 and the Doc House could not have been more perfect. This house is breathe taking, well taken care of, and a great use of space. The outdoor areas are amazing and a great location on Tybee with walking distance to all activities!! Also, the neighbor to the house was so kind and friendly (really makes a difference). I cannot wait to stay in the Doc House again; hopefully for longer than a weekend this time!

This is truly one of the most beautiful properties on the island. We have stayed at over 30 different rentals over the past 24 years and Doc House is number 1. It didnt hurt that we were able to trailer our boat from atlanta and have it at our disposal right at the end of our own private dock. The moonlight cruises were wonderful and watching the fireworks from the gazebo while sipping Dom Perignon was over the top. We are looking forward to renting this property again during the summer months.

Our check-in was smooth and effecient. Very courteous staff and there was a nice "welcome bag" with useful items when we arrived at the house. The home was outstanding, and there was plenty of room for our group. Liked that bedrooms were upstairs, so those who wanted to retire early were not disturbed. We were close to the beach and grandchildren loved swimming off the dock. It was great to have a place for the kids when no one wanted to go to the beach. We met the gentleman from next door who kindly loaned us jumper cables when our son's car battery failed. He also recommended several good eating places. Although the house as a whole was very clean, the only concern was some of the pots, pans and utensils for cooking had not been cleaned well. However, we simply put them in the diswasher before using and everything was fine. We had all the kitchen equipment needed, and we cooked most of our meals at the house. It was obvious that the family of the original owner was proud of their home and wanted others to enjoy it as well.
"Great house and location, but beware of additional charges!"

We absolutely loved the location and condition of Doc House. We appreciated the quality of the construction and remodeling as we always try to find a home with the amenities we are accustomed to in our own home. The dock was everyones' favorite place to hang out; spectacular views! However, beware since the management company has deceived us the last two times we have rented from them. Less than a week from our July 2011 vacation, they called to tell us they had made a mistake and the property was unavailable. They did find us anther rental, but it did not have the location, number of bedrooms, or bathrooms we needed. We had to take it since we had already planned to take the week off, but were very disappointed. Then, this July 2012, we did get the property we wanted, Doc House, but after we left we received an email with charges of damage that just did not occur or were billed at a fradulent rate. When we called, Sadie Gastor(manager),would not return our phone calls. Another employee (Nancy) did speak with us and we accepetd a resolution even though we knew that we could win a case against them in small claims court, but settled for the sake of expediency. I advise renters to take lots of pictures before they leave and be aware of deceptive practices from this management company.
Update 1/17/2013 We are so pleased that you chose to come back to TVR for your 2013 trip! We look forward to welcoming you back to the island, this time at The Pink House.
We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay this year. It was a very unfortunate and unique circumstance which was out of our control that required us to move your reservation in 2011 for which you were compensated financially.
Doc House is a lovely house and we do everything we can to see that it stays enjoyable for our guests as well as maintain its quality for its owner. The hole that your son put in the ceiling you graciously acknowledged that he did and agreed that the charge was appropriate to repair the popcorn ceiling. Although there was evidence of smoking in the house (cigars in the bathroom and hallway) we did waive this fee for you since no permanent damage was done and we were able to eliminate the smell. We are not sure how a brand new bathroom would have a broken toilet seat, but again we waived this charge to try to be amicable to you. The only charge that you could not agree upon was the oil stains on the sofa, rugs and wall. Jet ski oil, the reason the dock was such a great gathering place, was found all over the sofa. A professional upholstery cleaner was called to remove the stains and you were billed according to his charges. Were the fees fraudulent? Absolutely not. You can’t expect to damage a property and expect not to be charged for it. The charges were appropriate to get this house back to its original condition. It is what we owe the property owner and future guests.
"Loved this lazy little beach town!"

Everything was great about the Doc House - from location to the actual home. It's in a quiet place on the back river but still very close to everywhere on the island. There are a lot of common rooms which made it easy to fit everyone in one space. The decor is very welcoming and not dated at all. The dock, gazebo and both porches cannot be beat!

This house was perfect for us. There was plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals. The neighbors are charming too. Staying on the Back River is quiet and feels private. I loved having my morning cup of coffee on the dock, and watching dolphins. We are looking forward next year's trip already.
